Four Rutgers recruits from South Jersey will get a head start on their college football careers in the New Jersey-Northeast game June 7 at Rutgers Stadium.
The 3 p.m. game will feature some of the top seniors from the state against a team of athletes from eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
The local players who will compete on their future field at Rutgers are Eastern defensive back Logan Ryan, Winslow Township linebacker Ka'Lial Glaud, Palmyra wide receiver-defensive back Quron Pratt, and Penns Grove running back Aaron Hayward.
The rosters were announced yesterday.
Other South Jersey players in the game are Mainland quarterback Brent Caprio, Timber Creek defensive back Eric Loper, Camden Catholic receiver Jerry Waters, Glassboro receiver Ricky Tunstall, Gloucester Catholic fullback Patrick Schuhl, Burlington City offensive lineman May Hay, Moorestown offensive tackle Cody Wallace, Delran guard Nick Cattolico, Camden receiver Charles Watkins, and Shawnee defensive tackle Dashawn Cassell.
Two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks will coach. Phil Simms will guide the New Jersey team and Joe Theismann the Northeast team.
