Kirstyn Urbas scored off a feed from Tori Jordan with 5 seconds left in the second overtime period, making host Washington Township a 16-15 winner over Cherokee yesterday in an Olympic Conference girls' lacrosse thriller.

Kirstyn Urbas scored off a feed from Tori Jordan with 5 seconds left in the second overtime period, making host Washington Township a 16-15 winner over Cherokee yesterday in an Olympic Conference girls' lacrosse thriller.

Urbas, who finished with three goals, also scored the Minutemaids' lone goal in the first overtime.

Township's Alyse Maiden shouldered the offensive load in regulation, leading all scorers with eight goals, while Jordan added a hat trick. Cherokee's balanced attack was topped by Megan Kehoe's five-goal effort.

Boys' Lacrosse

Mike Jevic's five goals sparked the Eastern attack, while goalie Dylan Florig made nine saves to back the Vikings' defense in a 9-2 home win over Olympic Conference rival Washington Township.

Softball

Jenny Hansberry's two-out, two-run single in the top of the 11th inning and a defensive gem by first baseman Catherine Senopolous allowed Haddonfield to outlast host Haddon Township, 4-1, in a Colonial Conference clash.

Devin Burris fanned a dozen batters while scattering seven singles and one walk in going the distance, and her RBI single put the Bulldogs ahead in the 11th.

In its final at-bat, Township loaded the bases with one out - but Burris came through with a strikeout and Senopolous made a leaping grab of a line drive ticketed for the rightfield corner.

Cape-Atlantic. Kylie Kristovich tossed her second no-hitter of the season and Nichole Rouse's two-run home run in the first inning started host Sacred Heart on its way to a 10-0 romp past Middle Township.

Kristovich, a junior righthander, struck out five and walked one in raising her record to 10-4. Clarissa Hayes contributed two hits and three RBIs for the Lions.

Boys' Tennis

Billy Freitag's 6-1, 6-2 win at first singles started third-seeded Cumberland on its way to a 5-0 whitewash of 14th-seeded Manchester Township in the opening round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 tournament.
