Cardinal O'Hara's lacrosse team is getting familiar with the grounds of Swarthmore College. The Lions knocked off Cardinal Dougherty in a Catholic League playoff quarterfinal there yesterday, 17-9, and will return to the venue tonight for a league semifinal against Archbishop Wood.

The Lions knocked off Cardinal Dougherty in a Catholic League playoff quarterfinal there yesterday, 17-9, and will return to the venue tonight for a league semifinal against Archbishop Wood.
The prize for a win would be a third trip to Swarthmore in four days, for the league title.
The Lions (14-3 overall, 11-2 league) disposed of Dougherty thanks to six goals from Amanda Mattera and four from Megan George.
Cardinal O'Hara goalie Michelle Miller had 10 saves.
In another quarterfinal, Conwell-Egan defeated Little Flower, 12-11, as Molly Mitchell scored the game-winner with 3 minutes, 20 seconds left. Kate Ryan had six goals to lead the Eagles.
Tri-County. Host Perkiomen School got five goals from Lailah Carter in an 18-12 semifinal win over Del-Val Friends.
Inter-Ac. Kelly Moore and Taylor Trimble each scored four goals as Episcopal Academy won at Baldwin, 18-6, to clinch the title.
Soccer
Casey Barrett and Arianne Townson each scored twice to boost host Central past Washington, 6-0, in a Public League semifinal playoff game.
The Lancers (16-0, 14-0) led by 3-0 at the half and advanced to Thursday's 6 p.m. final, at Northeast.
Franklin Towne Charter outlasted visiting Masterman, 2-0, in the other semifinal, getting a goal and an assist apiece from Megan McGuigan and Sara Rogers and eight saves from Colleen Dwyer.
Softball
Masterman rallied for 12 runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull off a 13-3 Public League semifinal playoff win over CAPA at La Salle University.
The Blue Dragons (12-0) will face Central on Thursday for the league title, also at La Salle.
Masterman's big inning was largely a result of eight walks and three errors, but Samantha Napierkowski and Olivia Paris-Kornilowicz each drove in a pair of runs with singles.
In the other semifinal, also at La Salle, Naja Jacobs struck out nine in pitching Central to a 15-0 victory over Science Leadership Academy. Central's Christian Rodriguez and Brenda Nguyen had extra-base hits.
District 1 Class AAAA. In a first-round playoff game, host North Penn topped Penncrest, 4-0, as Kellianna Bradstreet pitched a three-hitter.
Michele Patten pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11 for host Haverford High in a 2-0 win over Penncrest.
Katie Salus singled in the eighth inning to give host Abington a 6-5 win over Downingtown East.
Catholic. At Archbishop Ryan, Hallahan rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to gain a 3-2 win over Archbishop Carroll in a fourth-place playoff game. Dana Disney singled in a run and Maggie Yoka's double produced the two others.
Tri-County. In a semifinal, host Barrack Hebrew needed eight innings to edge West-Mont Christian, 9-8, as Sarah Saltz's single down the left-field line scored Kara Kimmel with the winning run. Saltz and Kimmel led the Cougars with three hits apiece.
Host Perkiomen School topped Renaisssance Academy, 7-2, in the other semifinal as Lindsey Manferdini pitched a five-hitter and struck out seven. Lucy Cox and Alexa Turner were both 2 for 3 to lead the Indians' nine-hit attack.
