S. Jersey Girls: No. 8 Bordentown shocks Delaware Valley in softball

Johnson had two of the Scotties' five hits, and she turned in a strong performance in the circle as well - striking out nine and scattering five hits and three walks over 11 innings.

Bordentown (11-5), which rallied twice to take one-run leads in the sixth and seventh innings, advances to Tuesday's semifinal round at fourth-seeded Raritan.

South Jersey Group 2. Megan Applegate's two-run double ignited a four-run sixth-inning outburst, lifting No. 2 seed Sterling over seventh-seeded Haddonfield, 4-0. Jamie Lambe struck out eight and allowed two hits and two walks in silencing the Bulldogs.

Krysti Maronski tossed a no-hitter and picked up her 100th career hit to highlight third-seeded GCIT's 17-0 rout of No. 6 seed Willingboro. Maronski finished 3 for 4 with four RBIs.

Maria Goeller had two hits, including a single that opened the door for Buena's four-run second-inning uprising, and the fourth-seeded Chiefs went on to blank fifth-seeded Audubon, 4-0. Brittany Scott struck out nine and limited the Green Wave to four hits to earn the victory.

South Jersey Group 1. Tabby Dick went 3 for 3 and scored twice and Taylor Chain fanned 15 batters to help top-seeded Gloucester double up No. 8 seed Penns Grove, 4-2.

Kelly Kline launched a two-run blast in the third inning to kick-start No. 5 seed Pennsville's offense in a 6-3 win at fourth-seeded Burlington City.

Alyson Yacono and Alicia Fortney combined for four hits and four RBIs, as third-seeded Pitman outslugged No. 6 seed Woodbury, 8-3, in a game that featured 24 hits.

Lauren Routzahn tossed a two-hit shutout and Katelyn DePierro belted a three-run home run in the sixth inning, capping second-seeded Maple Shade's 5-0 win over No. 7 seed Riverside.

South Jersey Group 4. Amanda Martinez and Danielle McDevitt combined for six hits, four runs and four RBIs to power top-seeded Williamstown past No. 9 seed Triton, 6-0.

Gina McCool drove in three runs, including a two-run homer in the sixth inning that capped No. 3 seed Cherokee's 6-0 triumph over 11th-seeded Pennsauken.

South Jersey Group 3. The trio of Nicolette Pizzo, Annmarie McPherson and Courtney West produced nine hits, six RBIs and two runs scored, sending top-seeded Cumberland to a 10-2 rout of No. 9 seed Manchester Township.

Lauren O'Rourke's three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning allowed fifth-seeded Delsea to hold off No. 4 seed Hammonton, 7-4.

Seventh-seeded Westampton Tech never recovered from a 7-0 first-inning deficit in falling, 15-2, at No. 2 seed Central Regional.

Central Jersey Group 1. Chelsea Kehr drove in three runs with three hits, including a home run, to back the two-hit pitching of Emily Million (12 strikeouts) as 12th-seeded Florence continued its improbable run with a 6-0 victory over No. 13 seed David Brearley.

Winning pitcher Abbey Houston combined with Emily Bausher to strike out 14 while allowing two singles, and New Egypt's offense banged out 19 hits as the sixth-seeded Warriors jumped on top early and cruised to a 12-0 win at No. 3 seed Point Pleasant Beach.

Lacrosse

Melissa Arthur scored the final six goals of the match, including the game-winner with four seconds left in regulation, leading No. 4 seed Cherokee to a 15-14 upset of top-seeded Eastern in a NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 semifinal.

In the other semifinal, Tori Jordan scored five times - including the 100th goal of her career - to highlight second-seeded Washinton Township's 18-12 triumph over No. 3 seed Lenape.

South Jersey Group 3. Michelle Tumolo's goal with less than two minutes to go pulled third-seeded Clearview within one, but No. 2 seed Shawnee was able to endure an 11-minute scoring drought to hold on for a 14-13 victory.

Top-seeded Moorestown mauled No. 4 seed Seneca, 19-2, behind four goals apiece by Alyssa Ogle and Katrina Martinelli.

South Jersey Group 1. Gwen Nihill's second goal tied the game with just under two minutes remaining, and then she assisted on Emily Burdalski's game-winner with eight seconds left as top-seeded Holy Cross overcame No. 4 seed Oak Knoll, 12-11.

South Jersey Group 2. Kim Lebak's hat trick paced a a balanced attack for No. 2 seed Northern Burlington, which hung tough before falling, 10-8, to third-seeded Red Bank Catholic.
