Radnor, La Salle defeat common foe

Radnor overwhelmed Manheim Township, 23-2, last night in the semifinals of the inaugural PIAA state girls' lacrosse tournament at Governor Mifflin.

Radnor (24-1) dominated the District 3 champions (20-5), not allowing a shot past goalie Annie Woehling until midway through the second half.

The Red Raiders, which lost only to Springfield (Delaware County) after going 23-0 last year, will face Strath Haven in the state championship game at noon on Saturday at HersheyPark Stadium.

Boys

Niko Amato, who will attend Maryland in the fall, was sharp in goal, making five saves and anchoring La Salle's 10-3 victory over Manheim Township in the PIAA state semifinals at Governor Mifflin.

The Explorers (20-4), who got two goals each by Westy Hopkins and Derek Borogowski, and another by Johns Hopkins-bound defender Tyler Durkin, will face Conestoga for the state title at 2 p.m. Saturday at HersheyPark Stadium.
