Pa. Boys: Kensington holds off Masterman's fury

Kensington held a 12-point lead with 2 minutes, 20 seconds left in the game thanks in part to a 24-point effort by Kyle Richardson. But Masterman (1-1) nearly pulled off a come-from-behind win behind 27 points each from Tyler Hunt and Mike Sturdivant. Devon Finney chipped in with 21 points for Kensington.

In other nonleague action:

Kyron Greene's driving layup with seven seconds left gave Springfield (Montgomery County) a 42-41 win over visiting Lower Moreland. Greene scored six points, and teammate Chris Crudele added 13 points for the Spartans.

Jabreil McLeod scored 24 points and helped Olney get past visiting Palumbo, 83-75.

Anthony Wallace countered with 31 points for the Griffins, including 19 points in the second half, and pulled down 12 rebounds. Teammate Mike Sawan added five three-pointers and scored 18 points.

Chris Davis and Sheldon Mayer each scored 12 points for Norristown in a 54-45 win over visiting Math, Civics and Science.

Steven Dominello notched 16 points to spark Bishop McDevitt to a 54-43 win over visiting Saul.

Jack Kinniry came through with 21 points and led Jenkintown past host Bristol, 50-39.

Isaiah Baker contributed 27 points and 10 rebounds to lift Episcopal Academy past visiting Delco Christian, 60-48.

Steve Vasturia collected 18 points and boosted St. Joseph's Prep past visiting Philadelphia Electrical, 68-53.

Donte Goodman scored six of his 19 points in the opening quarter and helped Sayre beat host Edison, 67-52.

Markeith Mont struck for 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists as World Communications cruised past visiting Bok, 63-46.

Christopher Dock shut out visiting Calvary Baptist in the first quarter and went on to earn a 42-20 victory.

Stevie Tyson scored 11 points for the Pioneers.

Lincoln broke a 37-37 tie in the third quarter and went on to beat visiting Mastbaum, 85-61.

Rickey Savage scored 25 points and was one of 13 players to score for Lincoln.

Sabree Astillero ripped visiting Community Academy of Philadelphia for 16 points and led Kennedy-Kenrick to a 63-21 win.

Catholic Blue. Tony Chennault picked up 19 points for Neumann-Goretti in an 82-43 whipping of visiting Lansdale Catholic.

Tri-County. Damien Williams notched 13 of his 33 points in the third quarter and boosted Phelps past host Del-Val Friends.

Zakee Wood accounted for 20 points and sparked Mercy Vocational to a 55-44 win over visiting Collegium.

Bruce Brittingham dropped in 10 of his 19 points in the third quarter and led Perkiomen School past host Barrack Hebrew, 58-37.

Wrestling

Edison improved its record to 3-0 by taking a pair of nonleague victories.

The Owls downed visiting Cardinal Dougherty, 60-18, and trampled visiting Abington Friends, 55-15.

Against Dougherty, Chariel Rivera pinned at 171 pounds in 29 seconds; Zedekian Montanez earned a 27-second pin at 152 pounds against Abington Friends.
