Eastern solid in Beast of the East

Four Eastern High School athletes placed high in their weight classes yesterday at the prestigious Beast of the East wrestling tournament at the University of Delaware.

Four Eastern High School athletes placed high in their weight classes yesterday at the prestigious Beast of the East wrestling tournament at the University of Delaware.

Anthony Baldosaro took second, Rob Deutsch and Preston Keiffer each took third, and Hank Stinson took fourth in the two-day event.

Baldosaro, a senior who has won the last two 140-pound state titles, competed at 145 pounds. Baldosaro lost to Ben Dorsay of Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Va., by 4-2 in the final.

Deutsch, a junior who won the state title last year at 112 pounds, took third at 119 pounds.

Keiffer, a senior who is a three-time region champion, took third at 160 pounds.

Stinson, a senior who won the state title at 135 pounds in 2008 but missed most of last season with an injury, took fourth at 140 pounds.

Three Camden Catholic wrestlers placed in the top seven. Senior Wayne Young was fifth at 215 pounds, freshman T.J. Miller was sixth at 125 pounds, and senior Taylor Walsh was seventh at 140 pounds.

Egg Harbor Township's Zach Agostino was fourth at 171 pounds.
