Pa. Girls: Sun Valley coach gets 300th win

Sun Valley's easy nonleague basketball win over visiting Interboro was uneventful except for one important number last night. Frank Ridpath recorded his 300th career win as the Vanguards' head coach with the 63-27 triumph.

Janna Crowley led the way for the Vanguards (10-3 overall) with 22 points.

Public. Chikilra Goodman saved a career moment for one of the biggest games of the season. The Bodine senior had 36 points, 21 rebounds and 14 steals in a 53-42 win over visiting Parkway, a showdown between unbeaten teams in the Public League's A-AA Red Division. Goodman needed only one rebound coming into the game to reach the career 1,000 mark. The Ambassadors are 8-3, 6-0. The Hoyas dropped to 7-3, 6-1.

Dashauna Minor's team-high 14 points were a major factor in host Lincoln's 41-26 win over Kensington.

Shaquita Williams scored 40 points to lead host High School of the Future past Randolph, 63-40.

Junior point guard Brittany Hrynko had 12 points and nine assists for Engineering and Science in its 54-27 win over visiting Math, Civics and Sciences.

Junior forward Sarah Rodgers had 14 points for Franklin Towne Charter in its 39-22 win over visiting Rhodes.

Freshman point guard Tiffany Then scored nine of her 14 points in the fourth quarter to boost host Paul Robeson past Strawberry Mansion, 47-43.

Bridget Giedemann's 21 points carried Swenson to a 40-39 win at Northeast Philadelphia neighbor Philadelphia Academy Charter.

Girls High won, 43-38, at Germantown behind Sienna Childs, who scored 11 points.

Catholic. Jess Koci, a 5-11 senior forward committed to La Salle University, scored 20 points to lead host Archbishop Ryan (9-3, 6-1) past Cardinal Dougherty, 64-47.

Inter-Ac. Penn State-bound Maggie Lucas scored 22 points for host Germantown Academy in a 59-19 win over Episcopal Academy.

Suburban One American. Taylor Koroncai's two free throws in the final minute gave Springfield (Montgomery County) a 44-42 win at Upper Moreland.

Suburban One National. Devin Gold scored 17 points and Lauren Gold added 16 points for host Council Rock North (10-3, 7-0) in a 62-53 overtime win over Abington, the first loss of the season for the Ghosts (10-1, 5-1). Council Rock North is the No. 4 team in the Inquirer's Top 10 and Abington is No. 6.

Catholic Academies. Ellen Cannon supplied the firepower for Villa Maria, scoring 19 points, in a 52-29 win at Gwynedd-Mercy.

Friends Schools. Celeste Golub's 20 points and eight rebounds powered host Shipley past Westtown, 50-27.

Tri-County. Woodlynde got 14 points from Sarah Engman in a 36-29 win at Del-Val Friends.
