Wednesday turned out to be title day for three South Jersey softball programs, as Gloucester and Gloucester Catholic wrapped up divisional championships in the Tri-County Conference, and Hammonton locked up a crown in the Cape-Atlantic League American Conference.

The celebration began early for Gloucester (16-1, 9-0 division), which claimed the Classic Division championship by pushing across nine runs over the second and third innings en route to a 17-3 victory at Clayton. Catcher Teresa Anderson went 3 for 5 with five RBIs while her batterymate, junior righthander Sam Bryszewski, struck out seven and yielded one walk and two hits.

Gloucester Catholic (14-2, 8-0) needed to wait a little longer, with the Rams scoring six times in the top of the seventh to pull out an 8-3 win at GCIT - and a ride home with the Diamond Division trophy. Shortstop Shayla Giosia batted 4 for 5, scored three times and drove in two runs, while catcher Olivia Lawrence tripled twice - including a two-run hit in the seventh.

Hammonton (16-3, 5-0) outlasted visiting Mainland, 7-5, to seal its spot atop the CAL American Conference Division II standings. Shortstop Jess Combs hit one of the Blue Devils' three home runs, finishing with two hits, two runs, and three RBIs.

Burlington County. Despite giving up single runs in the fourth and seventh innings, Nicole Sheppard recorded her second no-hitter to back Bordentown's 10-2 triumph at Willingboro.

Olympic. Shawnee and Triton are tied atop the Patriot Division, with both teams boasting 5-1 records with two divisional games remaining.

Jackie Pezzato pitched a two-hit shutout and helped herself with a home run, and Michelle Pezzato ripped a two-run double to pave the way for Shawnee's 10-0 romp past visiting Cherry Hill West. Triton rolled, 15-1, at Winslow Township as Brie Reighn and winning pitcher Amber Scott combined for six hits and three runs.

Camden Catholic maintained its leg up in the National Division by taking down host Seneca, 8-1, while second-place Bishop Eustace rode the pitching and hitting of Jess O'Hara (2 for 3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) to a 5-1 win at Timber Creek.

Caroline Griffin's bases-loaded triple ignited a six-run third-inning rally, as second-place Cherokee remained alive in the American Division with a 7-4 triumph at Cherry Hill East.

Tri-County. Kelsey Dominik (3 for 4) hit a go-ahead solo homer in the fourth inning and added a two-run blast in the fifth, as Kingsway scored 10 times over the final three innings to finish off host Deptford, 11-1.

Baseball

Brett Morris and reliever Connor Collins combined to pitch Cherry Hill East's 10-0 surprise over fifth-ranked Cherokee at East. Tyler Caton drove in four runs and Nate Mulberg had two RBIs with two doubles in the Olympic Conference matchup.

Bishop Eustace scored the gamer's first eight runs and held off visiting Timber Creek, 11-8. Julius Deleo-Murphy slapped three hits, and Ken Fetchko drove in three runs and scored three times.

Three hits and three RBIs each by Ed Royds and Eric Sellito boosted Shawnee past visiting Cherry Hill West, 12-7.

Tri-County. Pitman's Mike McIllvaine, Steven Schuler and Dylan Colgate combined for nine strikeouts and an 8-0 no-hitter against visiting Salem. Schuler also went 2 for 2, hit a two-run homer, and scored three runs.

Burlington County. Winning pitcher Devon Hedgepeth helped himself by driving in three runs with a single and a triple, as host Rancocas Valley edged Moorestown, 7-6, to leave the two teams tied atop the Liberty Division with 5-1 records.

Justin Howarth singled in the game-winning win in the bottom of the seventh, completing host Northern Burlington's 4-3 come-from-behind victory over New Egypt.

Boys' Lacrosse

Alex Salcedo had four goals and two assists, and Joey Murray added three assists as host Camden Catholic nipped Bishop Eustace, 9-7, in the Olympic Conference.

Shawnee goalie Jim Valentine made seven saves, and Dylan Lucas and Ben Schwing netted three goals each during an 11-2 win over visiting Cherry Hill West.

Girls' Lacrosse

Shannon Quinn and Vicky Surcharski keyed a Cinnaminson attack that awoke in the second half to pull away from visiting Moorestown Friends, 13-7, in a nonleague match.

Quinn struck for six goals while Surcharski contributed four goals and three assists for the Pirates, who broke a 6-6 tie by scoring four times in the first six minutes of the second half. Moorestown Friends goalie Meagan Connelly stopped 23 shots.

Tennis

Chas Berenato became St. Augustine's all-time winningest player, notching his 109th career victory during the Hermits' 5-0 nonleague win over visiting Gloucester Catholic on Tuesday.

Berenato defeated Rollie Malfitano, 6-2, 6-4, at first singles to break the mark of 108 wins set by George Gennaoui in 2007.
