We continue our top-10 baseball tour with the best third basemen in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We cranked this list, based on personal observations and coaches' insights, up to 12.

1. Kevin Conroy, Father Judge, senior. During one critical stretch this season, Conroy, a do-everything player, went 10 for 11 with three triples, two doubles, and a towering home run.

Conroy, also a first baseman and designated hitter, batted .338 with 14 RBIs, 12 runs, 10 extra-base hits, and a .472 on-base percentage. He will play for Mike Lake at La Salle University.

2. Al Baur, Neumann-Goretti, senior. A two-position spark plug for the Saints, Baur, a cleanup man, is headed to Indian River State College in Fort Pierce, Fla.

3. Aaron Wilmer, George Washington, senior. Like Baur, Wilmer excelled as a third baseman and pitcher. The Eagles' No. 3 batter plans to play baseball and football at West Chester University.

4. Ed Rooney, Friends' Central, senior. In 27 games, he batted .434 with 34 runs, 32 RBIs, 19 walks, 9 doubles, a .776 slugging percentage, and a .578 on-base percentage. He is ticketed for Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.

5. Ray Puskar, Pennridge, senior. The first-team all-Suburban One League Continental Conference selection hit .415 with 27 RBIs, 17 runs, 3 doubles, and a .539 on-base percentage.

6. Pete Rowe, Central, junior. For the Public League champions, Rowe is batting .565 with 25 RBIs, 8 doubles, and 2 triples. On the mound, he is 8-0 with a 2.75 ERA.

7. Robert Patete, Owen J. Roberts, junior. Through 21 games for the Wildcats, third-place finishers in the District 1 Class AAAA playoffs, he was hitting .449 with 29 RBIs, 15 walks, 6 homers, and 5 doubles.

8. Vince Rondolone, Haverford School, junior. The Fords' No. 6 man in the lineup batted .338 with 22 RBIs, 22 runs, 9 doubles, 3 homers, and a .461 on-base percentage.

9. Tim Troyer, Upper Dublin, senior. The first-team all-Suburban One League American Conference pick batted .431 with 23 RBIs, 14 runs, 13 walks, and a .638 slugging percentage.

10. Dom Raia, GAMP, junior. Entering Monday's PIAA Class A first-round playoff vs. Christopher Dock, Raia is batting .463 with 26 RBIs and 5 doubles. On the mound, he is 3-3 with a 2.56 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 381/3 innings.

11. Mike Fitzgerald, Germantown Academy, sophomore. From the No. 2 spot in the batting order, Fitzgerald hit .351 with 28 walks (in 83 plate appearances), 15 RBIs, and a .615 on-base percentage. As a closer, he went 3-0 and notched two saves.

12. Bryce Frankenfield, Christopher Dock, senior. For the District 1 Class A champs, he is batting .429 with 22 RBIs, 19 runs, 12 walks, 7 doubles, and a .574 on-base percentage.
