Rasheim Wright, a 29-year-old former Public League star at Martin Luther King High, obtained his Jordanian citizenship in 2007, and now is a leading player for Jordan's national team.

Jordan has lost all three of its pool-play games so far. It almost upset Australia in the opener, losing by 76-75. It then was upset by Angola and lost to Serbia. Wright, a 6-foot-4 guard, averaged 17 points in Jordan's first two games before being held to five in Monday's 112-69 loss to Serbia. Jordan finishes pool play with games Thursday against Argentina and Friday against Germany. Wright was the top scorer in this year's Asian Championship, leading Jordan to a third-place finish.

Wright, who played at Gloucester County College and Division II University of the District of Columbia, has played professionally in Mexico, Lebanon, Argentina, Iran, Jordan, and Turkey. Last season, he began playing in Jordan and was loaned to a team in Iran before moving to another club in Beirut.
