Spotlight on: Moorestown senior Erin Roy
Soccer accomplishments. Roy helped Moorestown win its 12th consecutive division title last season by being a vital part of the defense. This season, she is playing stopper and is one of just two senior starters (sweeper Sheridan Fauvell is the other).
Soccer history. She has played organized soccer since age eight. A varsity player since midway through her freshman year, Roy also competes for the Medford Strikers. She hopes to play in college but hasn't chosen a school.
Being a leader. "I feel I want to be a leader on the field, but we have a lot of younger players who have just as much experience and are just as capable as any seniors," she said.
Loving the competition. The Burlington County Liberty Division is among the best in South Jersey, especially with the addition of Holy Cross.
"It's awesome, playing in the Liberty," she said. You get so pumped up for games and playing great teams like Holy Cross, Cinnaminson, and Rancocas Valley."
The final word. "What I love about playing for Moorestown is that we always have the mentality of going all-out every game," she said. "Our coach (Bill Mulvihill) is an emotional coach with a great passion for the game, and you never want to let him down."
