Belton leads Winslow by Moorestown
If his game were basketball, Shaun Turner would be a great sixth man. "Remember Vinny 'The Microwave' Johnson for the Detroit Pistons?" Winslow Township football coach Mike McBride said. "Shaun is my Microwave."

"Remember Vinny 'The Microwave' Johnson for the Detroit Pistons?" Winslow Township football coach Mike McBride said. "Shaun is my Microwave."
Turner heated up in a hurry on Saturday, bouncing off the bench to score three touchdowns in three ways as Winslow Township beat Moorestown, 47-21, in a first-round game of the South Jersey Group 3 football tournament.
Turner, a senior running back, scored on a 15-yard run, a 28-yard reception, and a 65-yard punt return.
Senior quarterback Bill Belton passed for 308 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for two touchdowns for fourth-seeded Winslow Township (6-3), which advanced to face top-seeded Lacey Township in next Saturday's sectional semifinals.
Junior quarterback Andrew Lisa was 17-for-38 passing for 272 yards and junior slotback Zac Frantz scored two touchdowns for fifth-seeded Moorestown.
The Quakers, who don't have a Thanksgiving weekend game, finished with a 7-3 record.
"I'll take 7-3 with our schedule," said Moorestown coach Russ Horton, whose team featured several sophomores and juniors in prominent roles.
Winslow Township broke the game open with a 28-point surge in the second quarter. Belton passed for all three of his touchdowns in the quarter and finished the first half with 272 passing yards.
"The coaches were telling me all week to set my feet and take what the defense was giving me," said Belton, who has committed to Pitt.
Belton threw touchdown passes of 30 yards to Devante Waugh, 44 yards to Billy Johnson, and 28 yards to Turner. Belton also ran 20 and 3 yards for two more touchdowns.
"What can you do?" Horton said of defending Belton. "Nobody can touch him. He's a man playing with boys."
Winslow Township got a big defensive game from senior end Nyzual Streater, who had two sacks and several quarterback pressures. The Eagles had two interceptions and recovered a fumble.
Turner, who shares time with starting running back Jye McBride, finished with 42 rushing yards on six carries. His punt return for a touchdown made the score, 47-13, midway in the fourth quarter.
"At first I didn't like coming off the bench," Turner said. "But now I like it. The defense is tired, and I bring my energy."
