Brittany Hrynko, who is on track to break the girls' basketball scoring record at Engineering & Science, has signed a letter of intent to play for DePaul next season.

Hrynko was one of several local athletes who signed letters Nov. 12 in several sports.

One of the top scorers in the Public League, Hrynko headed into the 2010-2011 season with 1,016 points.

Last season, the 5-foot-7 Hrynko averaged 21.7 points, 6.1 assists, 5 steals, and 6 rebounds a game for the Engineers, who were 20-4.

"She's very talented and very coachable," said Engineers coach Dave Hargrove.

Cavaliers get Warren. Sloan Warren, a three-sport standout at Baldwin, has committed to play lacrosse for Virginia. She is expected to be an attack wing for the Cavaliers.

Warren, a soccer and basketball player at Baldwin in addition to lacrosse, said she has been leaning toward Virginia for a long time.

Carrullo to St. John's. Central Bucks South senior Fran Carrullo will take her trusty right arm to St. John's to pitch for the softball team. She has been a key reason why the Titans have gotten to the PIAA Class AAAA final four the last two seasons. The Titans finished 17-2 this past spring after losing, 1-0, to Mount Lebanon in the state championship game.

Carrullo had 64 strikeouts and five walks in 65 innings during the regular season, yielding just five earned runs.

"I love the Big East and New York and I want [to major in] communications," Carrullo said. "What better place than St. John's for that. At South we've had awesome hitting and great defense. Sometimes you need some luck on game day. Maybe this time it will be ours. "

Holy Family next stop. Archbishop Ryan senior Sarah Chilutti has signed a letter of intent to play softball for Holy Family. She has been Ryan's starting pitcher since she was a freshman.
