Roman Catholic's Rip Engle made the most of his opportunities to shoot in a 66-41 nonleague boys' basketball win over Prep Charter Wednesday.
Engle, who was named after the former Penn State head football coach, made six of his 10 shots from the field and finished with 13 points for Roman, which was led by Shafeek Taylor's 16 points on seven of 12 shooting.
In the game played at Community College of Philadelphia, the Cahillites made 26 of 44 shots from the field.

Mike McGlinchey, a 6-foot-8 sophomore, scored half of his game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to rally host Penn Charter past Hill School, 44-38. The Quakers outscored the Blues, 16-7, over the final quarter.
Shawn Brown had 24 points and 10 rebounds for host Saul in a 70-51 win over True Bright Science Academy.
Tri-County. Host Del-Val Friends remained unbeaten in the league with a 35-30 win over Collegium Charter behind Yazan Muasher's 12 points and Sterling Flower's 12 rebounds. Del-Val Friends is now 4-2 overall, 3-0 league.
Phelps also remained unbeaten in league play, placing six players in double figures, in a 104-53 win over visiting Barrack Hebrew.
Jakob Batycki, a 7-foot-1 senior, came off the bench to chip in with 10 points, while the Lions also got 18 points from 6-9 Isaiah Gans. Damien Williams, a 6-5 forward, also scored 18 points. Sophomore point guard Devon Haines had 17 points and 14 assists for Phelps (5-1, 4-0).
Swenson got 24 points and 18 rebounds from Bridget Geidemann in a 44-19 Public League win over visiting Science Leadership on Wednesday.
Tanisha Chambers had 29 points and 22 rebounds to lift host Parkway West past rival Parkway Center City, 58-33.
Imhotep Charter won at Parkway Northwest, 51-29, behind Imani Louden's 17 points. Louden scored 10 of those during a 23-3 first-quarter run. Teammate Destiny Russell added 13 points.
Franklin Learning Center's 48-22 win at Roxborough was a tale of two halves as the Indians' 18-13 halftime lead was wiped out by the Bobcats' 35-4 run in the second half. The Bobcats were led by Ashley Fulton's 17 points.
Sherrie Satchel's 25 points carried Simon Gratz to a 56-29 win at Mariana Bracetti. The Bulldogs put the game away with a 26-8 second quarter.
Mastbaum placed three starters in double figures, led by Wakia Murray's 16 points, in a 50-39 win at Del-Val Charter.
Strawberry Mansion got 18 points from Roneesha Rollins and 17 more from Betty Teachey in a 53-34 win at High School of the Future.
Communications Tech got 15 rebounds and five steals from Khadyah Garner in a 55-13 win over visiting Math, Civics. and Sciences.

Penn-Jersey. Linette Young had 16 points and five assists for host Mercy Vocational in a 45-39 win over International Christian. Tyshira Maddox, a 6-foot junior center, added a career-high 13 points for the Monarchs (7-1, 3-0).
Nonleague. Friends' Central placed three players in double figures, led by Maria Conyers-Jordan's 18 points, in a 48-46 win over visiting Hill School.
Coaches vs. Cancer. In a tournament showcase, Nazareth Academy rolled to a 43-23 win at Archbishop Ryan behind Maggie Borski's 17 points and Danielle Gasperi's 11 points.
