A Salera sweep in Wash.Twp. mat win

The Salera family celebrated a sweep of sorts in Washington Township's wrestling match with Winslow Township on Thursday, with all four cousins posting wins as the host Minutemen prevailed, 57-15, in an Olympic Conference match.

Matt Salera (130 pounds) and Christian Michael Salera (140) each had a pin, Christian Matthew Salera (152) won by major decision, and Tyler Salera (285) pulled out a 4-2 victory.

In another Olympic Conference match, Brian Lussier's 31-second fall at 215 capped a string of five consecutive pins, enabling Cherry Hill East to pull away from host Shawnee, 51-21.

Nonleague. Daireck Hatton (130) and Lawson Worthy (140) each posted a 42-second pin to wipe out an early deficit and send host Millville to a 60-22 triumph over St. Joseph. The Thunderbolts' Jake Martin (103) turned in the quickest fall of the match, taking down his opponent in 20 seconds.

Dan Laluk won by fall in 26 seconds at 135 pounds for the fastest of Gloucester's five first-period pins as the host Lions mauled Maple Shade, 51-25.

Tyler Brake recorded a technical fall at 112 and Connor Schuck gained a major decision at 152 to highlight Cherry Hill West's 51-25 victory at Deptford.

Steve Struble's 7-4 decision at 145 keyed a late surge that enabled host Hammonton to finish off Haddon Township, 46-25.

Host Clearview posted pins at eight weights in clobbering Holy Spirit, 73-6. Alex Moncher added a major decision at 119 for the Pioneers.

Cinnaminson's Napolean Blamon led all scorers with 29 points, but the Pirates needed flawless foul shooting down the stretch to edge visiting Rancocas Valley, 65-64, in a Burlington County League thriller.

Max DiLeo (15 points) and Dan Hadden combined to make 15 of 15 foul shots in the fourth quarter, with Hadden supplying the winning point on a free throw with 11 seconds remaining.

Kenny Johnson (23 points), Dom Twitty (13), and Kalee Marshall (10) supplied the bulk of the Red Devils' scoring.

In another Burlco clash, Avery Holliday picked up six of his eight points in the fourth quarter, helping Burlington Township hold on for a 50-46 win at Holy Cross. Shamus Keegan had a game-high 12 points for the Lancers.

Cape-Atlantic. George Moore and Vance Matthews teamed up to produce 25 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks in powering host Lower Cape May past St. Joseph, 62-25.

Freshman Alliya Butts came through with 10 points, four steals, and three assists in leading Holy Cross to a 38-18 victory at Burlington County League rival Palmyra.
