S. Jersey Girls: Sellers reaches 1,000 points in Woodbury's first win

Dominique Sellers notched her 1,000th career point while fashioning a double-double, as Woodbury parlayed a fast start into its first victory of the season - 59-47 over Buena - on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Buena girls' basketball tournament.

Sellers, a senior guard, tossed in 21 points and dealt 10 assists. Sophomore Danseha Triplett battled inside for 12 points and 11 rebounds, and senior transfer Megan Fox totaled 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot for the Thundering Herd (1-2). Caroline Santiago (19 points) and Jasmine Myers (14) fueled a late rally by Buena.

Maple Shade earned the berth opposite Woodbury in Wednesday's championship game. Jackie McClellan led all scorers with 18 points for the Wildcats, who built a 15-point halftime lead.

Boardwalk Classic. Carla Chmielewski and Adrienne Small scored 11 points apiece and Stephanie McDonnell netted 10 for Paul VI, which took command with a 20-4 second-quarter spree and went on to defeat Hammonton, 51-30, in the Big Al Memorial showcase at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Laura Martin shot 6 for 6 from the foul line in scoring 16 points for Wildwood Catholic, and the Crusaders flexed their muscle late to turn away Burlington City, 43-37, in the other Big Al matchup.

Despite 17 points by Kristine Miller, Cedar Creek was unable to dig out of an early 14-point hole and went on to lose, 72-44, to Prep Charter.

Courtney Nock (14 points) and Shatiera Smith (13) had the hot hands, Ashli Weems cleared 11 rebounds and Millville outscored Friends' Central, 25-11 over the final two quarters, to cruise to a 47-27 semifinal victory in the Kaitlin Anzelone Memorial Bracket.

The Thunderbolts' opponent in Wednesday's final will be Cape May Tech, after Kerry Player and Jade Miller teamed up for 20 points and 12 rebounds in the Hawks' 48-20 win over Wildwood.

Huntingdon Valley Rotary. Amanda Offenback led the way with 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists, and Jazlyn Johnson celebrated her 17th birthday with 14 points, as Holy Cross crushed Truman, 56-24, to move into Wednesday night's championship at Lower Moreland.

Angela Anderson Classic. Jewel Brown dominated the low post with 19 points and 17 rebounds, and she scored eight in a 14-2, game-ending spree that enabled host Clayton to put away Highland, 45-34.

Steph Williams contributed 10 points and four assists for the Clippers, who will take on Gateway in Thursday night's final.

Pennsauken had no answer for Gateway's Meghan Nowak, who poured in 27 points to lead the Gators to a 43-35 win.

Moorestown Tournament. Catherine Senopoulos made four shots from beyond the arc in scoring 20 points and teamed with Maddie Betley (15 points) to key a 16-8 third-quarter surge, lifting Haddonfield over Princeton Day, 51-48.

Mount Holly Rotary. Brianna Logan scored 13 of her 19 points in the first half, as host Rancocas Valley ran out to an early 30-point lead in scorching Notre Dame, 66-25.

Lauren Gaskill (14 points), Natalya Lee (11) and Lauren Moses (10) rounded out the double-figure scoring for the Red Devils, who will face Bishop Eustace in Thursday's championship game.

Bishop Eustace withstood a furious rally to edge Delran, 41-39, in the other semifinal. The Crusaders' Hope Phillips (14 points) and Taylor Hudspeth (13) combined to offset a game-high 16 points by Delran's Aliyah Murray.

Audubon Tournament. Cori Conner picked up seven of her 16 points in a game-changing 16-8 second-quarter spurt, and Irene Grimanis and Gabrielle Cooper combined for 23 points and 19 rebounds to carry Gloucester past Cinnaminson, 47-39, and into Wednesday's championship.

Host Audubon also advanced, getting double-digit scoring from Alex Gravinese (11 points), Tyler Frankowski (10) and Devon Coyle (10) in a 50-27 rout of Moorestown Friends.
