Emily Kuhlman's first varsity points were put to good use Thursday. Kuhlman came off the bench and nailed a foul-line jumper with 7 seconds left in overtime to hand Downingtown West a 37-36 win over Hempfield in the Spring-Ford Tournament.

Kuhlman came off the bench and nailed a foul-line jumper with 7 seconds left in overtime to hand Downingtown West a 37-36 win over Hempfield in the Spring-Ford Tournament.
Kuhlman, a sophomore, came into the game when Brittany Sicinski fouled out. Hempfield scored the first four points of overtime, but Caitlin Walsh nailed a three-pointer to close the gap to 36-35, setting up Kuhlman's winning shot.
Sarah Payonk accounted for 14 points and sparked Spring-Ford to a 61-16 win over Conestoga.
Fort Myers Tournament. Brittany Wood converted seven three-pointers, scored 24 points, and was named the most valuable player of the tournament after Archbishop Ryan beat Santaluces (Fla.), 61-51, to win the Bronze Division title.
In the fifth-place game of the Bronze Division, Jackie Thompson struck for 13 points and led St. Basil to a 39-36 win over Teneroc.
Boardwalk Basketball Classic. Shannon Barlow led a balanced Neshaminy scoring attack with 10 points and the Redskins beat Vineland (N.J.), 43-36, in an Ocean Cup Bracket game at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
In a Classic Showcase game, Lauren Gold dropped in a trio of three-pointers and scored 15 points for Council Rock North in a 58-32 win over Scotch Plains (N.J.).
Prime Time ESCIT Tournament. Brianna Butler and Aleesha Powell each scored 13 points to lift Penn Charter past Steinert (N.J.), 51-15, at Trenton Catholic.
Nonleague. Colleen Walsh scored 16 points and lifted Shipley to a 55-48 win over host Radnor.
Charlotte Beebe picked up 27 points and propelled Penncrest to a 46-33 win over visiting Kennett.
Alison Malatesta contributed 12 points and led William Tennent past visiting Owen J. Roberts, 41-20.
