S. Jersey Girls: Boisvert leads East to title

Cherry Hill East turned a showdown of unbeaten girls' basketball teams into a one-sided matchup on Thursday as the Cougars battered Gloucester Catholic, 59-39, in the championship game of the Gloucester Catholic holiday tournament.

Marie Boisvert was named the tournament MVP after scoring 18 points, including three three-point baskets in a 13-2 third quarter that extended East's lead from seven points at halftime to 18 points.

Darby Festa added 15 points for East (4-0), which had seven threes in the game, and the Rams' (4-1) Kristina Reiter hit 15 points.

Also at Gloucester Catholic, West Deptford dominated the last three quarters of a 62-33 consolation win over Deptford. Kelly Brewster provided seven rebounds and 21 points, including 10 points in a 15-8 third quarter.

Mount Holly Rotary. The 1-2 scoring punch of Natalya Lee with 18 points and Lauren Gaskill with 15 ignited host Rancocas Valley's 55-38 win over Bishop Eustace in the championship game.

Delran defeated Notre Dame, 53-25, in the consolation game as Colleen Hughes had 11 points with a trio of three-pointers, and Aliyah Murray contributed eight points, eight rebounds, and eight steals.

Angela Anderson Classic. Meghan Nowak took home the MVP award after scoring 24 points in the championship game and boosting Gateway past host Clayton, 40-28. The Gators' Alicia Fox joined Clayton's Jewel Brown and Stephanie Williams on the all-tournament team.

Boardwalk Classic. Winslow Township converted 15 of 17 foul shots in a 45-29 semifinal win over St. Joseph in the Jersey Shore Bracket at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Jada Matthews scored 16 points and hauled in six rebounds for the Eagles.

Salem also reached the final, disposing of Egg Harbor Township, 48-35. The Rams' Shaqui Coppage had a solid all-around effort with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Ariana Slaughter collected nine rebounds.

Michael Tucker Tournament. Alicia Carthan scored 12 points and She'reva Mendanhall added 10 as host Bordentown outlasted J.P. Stevens, 44-39, in the third-place game.

New Egypt Warrior Classic. All-tournament picks Shelby Dolan (14) and Jackie Laurenti (13) guided Northern Burlington to a 43-29 championship win over New Egypt.

Nonleague. Julia Duggan's 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists steered Ocean City past visiting Shawnee, 40-27. Reilly Larkin added 15 points and Natalie Landi snagged seven boards.
