Fri. S.J. girls’ roundup: Sixth straight division title for OC

The Ocean City girls' basketball program added to its banner collection on Friday, when the host Red Raiders routed Mainland, 60-34, to capture the Cape-Atlantic League American Conference Division II title for the sixth consecutive season.

The Duggan sisters - sophomore center Julia and junior forward Emily - teamed up to produce 23 points, 17 rebounds, and a dozen assists. Emily Gillian added 12 points and four steals, and fellow junior guard Reilly Larkin scored 12 for Ocean City, which finished 8-0 in divisional play and improved to 19-6 overall.

Tri-County. Tori Smick stole the show with 20 points and 20 rebounds for Woodstown, but a second-quarter slump doomed the Wolverines to a 49-40 loss at Gloucester. Cori Conner posted 18 points and nine rebounds, and Gabrielle Cooper cleared eight boards to go with her 16 points for the Classic Division champion Lions.

Williamstown took command from the start, cruising out to a 15-2 lead en route to a 49-27 romp past visiting Deptford. The Braves' balanced offense was led by Taylor Walker's 11 points.

Olympic. Sisters Kylie and Kelly Giedemann combined for 24 points, including 10 apiece in a 25-5 second-quarter spree, as Washington Township toppled host Triton, 66-38. The Minutemaids received scoring from 11 players, and Deja Bullock tossed in a game-high 16 points for the Mustangs.

Burlington County. Alicia Bradley enjoyed a strong all-around game, totaling 19 points, 6 assists, and 5 steals in guiding host Burlington Township over Riverside, 57-37.

Cape-Atlantic. St. Joseph seized control in the second quarter, when Colleen Henry picked up 14 of her 16 points in fueling a 25-6 surge, and the host Wildcats went on to bury Bridgeton, 66-36. Bridgeton's Jovan Childers led all scorers with 23 points.

Nonleague. Danielle Owes scored 14 of her 20 points in a 23-11, game-ending run, and host Westampton Tech continued its long-range assault in turning back Pitman, 57-49.

Owes made her 34th and 35th three-point baskets of the season for Tech, which has connected on 105 shots from beyond the arc. Caroline Hoffman's 13 points paced the Panthers.

Behind 16 points by Megan Kirschling, West Deptford built an early 20-point lead and went on to win, 53-39, at Glassboro.

Marissa Rivera (14 points) and Rachel Dortch (12) supplied more than enough scoring for Northern Burlington in a 36-19 victory at Collingswood.
