Pa. Boys: La Salle captures district tennis title
The La Salle tennis team has been perfect this season and would like to stay that way. The Explorers won their second-straight District 12 Class AAA title with a 5-0 win over Public League Class AAA champion Central at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center on Thursday.

The Explorers won their second-straight District 12 Class AAA title with a 5-0 win over Public League Class AAA champion Central at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center on Thursday.
La Salle (17-0) was led by Christian Lutschaunig, who won his match at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
The Explorers were undefeated last season as well before losing in the first round of the PIAA Class AAA state tournament. La Salle will meet District 1 Class AAA runner-up Unionville in the first round of the state tournament on Tuesday at Arthur Ashe.
Track and Field
Northeast won the 4x400-meter relay and ran away with the Public League title at Benjamin L. Johnston Memorial Stadium.
The Vikings were paced by a team of Treet Lewis, Yini Donnie, William Simpson, and Devon Dillard, who won the relay in 3 minutes, 24.55 seconds.
New Media Charter's Chidi Okezie put on a show, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.24 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 21.92 seconds, and the 400-meter dash in 48.95 seconds.
Lacrosse
Zach Rego struck for three goals and two assists and sparked Haverford School to an 11-1 win over visiting Moorestown, ranked No. 3 in South Jersey, in a nonleague game.
The Fords finished the regular-season at 20-0 and are the top-ranked team in the country.
Public. Northeast got two goals each from Veasna Kim and Parth Patel and beat Mastery Charter Shoemaker, 7-2, in a Public League game.
Nick DiMartino collected a hat trick with two assists and boosted Washington to a 9-1 win over visiting Del-Val Charter.
Inter-Ac. Shane Carr and Tyler White scored two goals each as Penn Charter edged host Episcopal Academy, 9-6.
Baseball
In a battle for the Del-Val League crown, Bob Barnett hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and boosted Interboro past visiting Chichester, 12-3, for its third straight title.
Gabe Encarnacion added three singles and four RBIs for the Bucs (14-4 overall, 13-1 league).
Central. John Gunheim belted a two-run, two-out single in the sixth inning and gave Ridley a 6-5 win over visiting Upper Darby.
Austin Little held visiting Lower Merion to four hits, struck out five, and helped Conestoga take a 5-3 victory.
Catholic Red. Jamie Juisti hit a pair of singles as Monsignor Bonner got past host Father Judge, 10-8.
Suburban One National. Sean Gannon and Chris Ruhl each collected a pair of singles and lifted Abington past visiting William Tennent, 10-8.
Suburban One American. Peter Lopez struck out six in a complete-game effort and sparked Upper Merion to a 2-1 win over host Cheltenham.
Nonleague. Kyle Gillien hit a two-run single in the sixth inning and led St. Joseph's Prep past host Lansdale Catholic, 4-2.
