Fri. Pa. football roundup: Boys’ Latin wins on safety

In the third quarter, the junior lineman broke into the backfield, knocked the ball out of the quarterback's hand and sent it bouncing out of the end zone for the safety.
He finished with seven tackles. Linebacker Sam Drummond recorded nine tackles, three of which came for a loss, and one interception.
Washington 38, Bartram 28 - With a 13-point fourth quarter, Washington (4-0, 3-0) pulled away from visiting Bartram (0-4, 0-3) in a Class AAAA Gold match. Hakeem Stillman ran for two scores in the quarter as the Maroon Wave was kept off the scoreboard. Stillman rushed for five of the Eagles' six touchdowns, including a 62-yard run. His 25-yard score put the Eagles ahead, 32-28, in the fourth.
Brandon Jones rushed for two scores for Bartram, including a 52-yard run in the second half. Michael Pritchette scored from 62 yards out in the first quarter.
Central 42, Mastbaum 14 - Ryan Dydak scorched visiting Mastbaum (2-2, 2-1) for four touchdown passes as Central (3-1, 3-0) rolled to an easy AAAA Silver win. Walt Pegues caught two of those scores and also returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown. Running back Hakeem Ellis rushed for 165 yards and one touchdown.
Dobbins 41, Martin Luther King 0 - Jameel Davis had his way with host Martin Luther King (0-3, 0-3) as he led the Mustangs (3-1, 2-1) to a romp in a Class AAA matchup. The running back totaled 140 rushing yards and three scores on just eight carries (17.5 yards per carry).He added three touchdowns, including a 75-yard scamper in the third quarter. DaQuan Brown rushed for 75 yards on 15 carries. Delane Hart threw a touchdown and rushed for another.
Antwaine Kitt led the Dobbins defense with 10 tackles, and Stephen Dizzell added a late interception in the end zone.
Ben Franklin 6, Roxborough 0 - After five periods without a score, Ben Franklin (0-3, 0-2) found pay dirt in the second overtime to capture a Class AAA win at Roxborough (4-0, 3-0). Anwar Mathis scored on a 4-yard plunge to take the lead. On the ensuing possession, the Electrons defense buckled down and stood up Roxborough's offense on the 3-yard line to seal the win.
Frankford 20, Northeast 19 - Johnny Leach shut the door on a Northeast (2-2, 2-1) comeback as he intercepted a two-point try with 1:03 left in regulation and Frankford (2-2, 2-0) clawed out the Class AAAA Gold win. The Vikings had scored 13 straight points up to that point.

Great Valley had no trouble with visiting Octorara as they rushed for five scores en route to a 40-0 rout in an American Division matchup. Five different rushers found the end zone, including quarterback Chris Geiss. Geiss scored on a three-yard dive in the first quarter and threw a touchdown in the second. Mack Hasz finished with 296 rushing yards and one score.
Michael Brown scored twice in the first half for the Pioneers and Tim DiGiorgio threw for 187 yards and one touchdown.
Communications Tech 33, Prep Charter 8 - Communications Tech (3-1, 0-2) built up a 21-point lead after three quarters and rolled to a road win over Class AA foe Prep Charter (1-2, 1-1). Rolando Ransom rushed for 162 yards and one score, a 31-yard scamper in the second quarter. James Brunson intercepted two passes, and Abdur Saaba recorded 13 tackles to lead the Phoenix.
Germantown 16, Overbrook 0 -The Bears (2-2, 2-0) featured both a 100-yard rusher and a 100-yard receiver as they picked up the win at Overbrook (0-4, 0-3) in a Class AAAA Gold contest. Myles Booker hauled in three passes for 105 yards and one score. Will Parks added 102 yards on the ground., and Cedric Wright ran for 105 yards.
Nonleague
Glen Mills (1-3) built a 35-point lead by the end of the third quarter and cruised to a 35-7 win over visiting Howard Woodson of Washington. George Walker rushed for 145 yards and three Bulls scores, including one from 40 yards out and another from 35. Eric Caldwell added two short scores.
Academy Park 47, Radnor 7 -After falling behind early, Academy Park rattled off 47 straight points as they routed Radnor. The Knights scored five touchdowns on the ground, two from Demetre Carter and Justin Brown returned a fumble 75-yards for a touchdown.
Suburban One
Upper Dublin (3-1, 1-0) scored three first-half rushing touchdowns as they knocked off visiting Cheltenham (2-2, 0-1), 19-7, in an American Conference game. Andrew Derr opened the scoring and Jaino Park scored twice.
Council Rock South 35, Truman 7 - Council Rock South (4-0, 1-0) scored five rushing touchdowns as they cruised to the home win over National Conference foe Truman (0-4, 0-1). Brian Donnelly rushed for two scores in the first quarter, including one from 49 yards out.

Andrew DeStefano caught a 30-yard pass in the first quarter and Conestoga (3-1, 2-1) never looked back as they downed visiting Penncrest (0-4, 0-3), 23-0. Jerrell Clark and Joe Vivian both scored on the ground and the Pioneers defense blocked a punt for a safety.
