Wed. Pa. boys' roundup: Conestoga beats Strath Haven late

Conestoga secured its hold on first place in the Central League boys' soccer standings on Wednesday with a 1-0 thriller over host Strath Haven.

Public. Franklin Towne Charter freshman Steven Gassmen scored his first goal in a 2-0 victory at Prep Charter.

Frankford's first win was a 2-1 overtime verdict over visiting Central in which Eric Salguero netted the winner on a 40-yard direct kick midway through the first extra period.

Jeff Schwartz of Science Leadership and Jarret Johnson of visiting Douglas traded goals in a 1-1 draw.

Lamberton's Travis Smith scored on a 16-yard shot from the left wing with 10 seconds left in overtime to beat host Kensington, 2-1. Pierre Nal-Coudly tied the game for the Blue Devils with 3 seconds to go in regulation.

Chad Craig scored twice off assists by Chris Chung and assisted Chung's goal as Boyertown notched its 10th win, 3-1, over visiting Perkiomen Valley.

Nonleague. Tyler Gottlieb scored off Cole Brown's assist in the 29th minute as Penn Charter edged host Archbishop Wood, 1-0.

Rich Gallo's second goal of the game was scored 3 minutes into overtime off an assist by Andrew Shannon, making Devon Prep a 4-3 winner over visiting Church Farm.

Evan Needs tied the game 4 minutes before his brother, Robby, netted a penalty kick for the game-winner with 5 minutes to go in Christian Academy's 5-4 win over visiting Phil-Mont Christian.
