Pa. Boys: Michael Gaito's scores winning goal as Pennridge tops Hatboro-Horsham

After assisting on the tying goal in the first half, Michael Gaito scored the game-winner in the second half as Pennridge held off visiting Hatboro-Horsham, 2-1, in a Suburban One boys' soccer matchup.

Gaito, a senior captain, received a feed from defender Justin Csaszar, beat a defender and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper for the winner with 20 minutes left.

Steven Catlett earned the win with five saves.

In other Suburban One action, Miguel Diaz recorded two assists as Central Bucks East knocked off Central Bucks West, 2-0. Sean Jenkins and Nick McGarry added goals and Jacob Nesteruk posted his eighth shutout.

Pioneer. Phoenixville scored twice early in the second half and held on the rest of the way to win at Upper Perkiomen, 2-1.

Ben Simons scored first for the Phantoms and James Riggins found the net with 20 minutes left to build a 2-0 lead. Brian Furr recorded the win with seven saves. Leland Yoder had three saves for Upper Perkiomen.

Tri-County. Phelps scored four times in the second half to knock off Kimberton Waldorf, 5-0. A.J. Bishop and Francisco DeLeon both had a pair of assists to lead the Lions.

Team captain Sam Mamlouk recorded his 50th career goal and Michael Shieh recorded three saves for the shutout.

Barrack Hebrew scored three times in the second half for a 4-1 win at Mercy Vocational. Aden Ohayon recorded three goals and Ben Chevlin added two assists. Ben Chevlin recorded the win with 10 saves. Joe Napoli scored in the second half for Mercy.

Nonleague. Chad Craig and Scoot Millard scored a goal as Boyertown outshot host West Chester East by 18 en route to a 2-0 win.

Craig assisted Millard's goal in the 62nd minute to give the Bears a two goal lead. Craig scored late in the first half off an assist from Tyler Uhlig.

Tim Lawlor recorded the shutout with two saves. Kyle Forsyth recorded 16 saves for West Chester East.

Golf

Episcopal and Haverford School finished in a tie for first place at the Inter-Ac Invitational at Plymouth Country Club hosted by Germantown Academy. Both teams finished with 239 team points.

Haverford's Scott Jaster shot a 1-under on a par-35 to capture the individual title. Malvern's Mike Davis finished a stroke back on even-par for second place.
