Pa. Girls: Central Bucks East holds off Central Bucks West, 4-3, in field hockey

Central Bucks East raced off to four goals in the first half and held off Central Bucks West, 4-3, in a Suburban One Continental field hockey matchup.

Junior forward Marisa Glatt scored a goal and an assist as four Patriots found the net.

In other Suburban One action, Rachel Valentine scored three times to highlight an easy 5-0 Souderton win over visiting Continental division foe Quakertown.

In an American division matchup, Wissahickon raced past Upper Moreland, 8-0.

Emily Gallagher scored four goals and Caroline Kovacs scored a pair to lead the Trojans.

Jackie Hibbs added a goal and three assists.

Central. Caleigh Foust and Michelle Horev each scored a pair of goals to lift Harriton over host Lower Merion, 4-1. Foust also assisted both of Horev's goals and Eliana Yankelev recorded 11 saves.  

Catholic. Grace Boston scored twice and added three assists as host Cardinal O'Hara scored six times in the second half to rock Little Flower, 8-0.

Alyssa Andress and Nicole Duca scored two goals each to lead host Archbishop Wood past Lansdale Catholic, 5-1.

Andress also recorded three assists while Duca added one.

 Nonleague. Tamahra Sheard tied the game in the second half off an assist from Krysta Zadroga as Upper Merion played to a 1-1 overtime tie at Chichester.

Soccer

Senior midfielder Courtney Weidner received a drop pass from teammates Gabby Rivera and fired in the game-winner from 20 yards out to lift Little Flower over visiting Conwell-Egan, 1-0.

In other Catholic League action, Senior Bryn Wassel scored the game-winner on senior day as as Lansdale Catholic slipped past visiting St. Hubert, 1-0. Defender Shannon Ozimo found Wassell on a long loft pass in the 61st minute for the game winner.

Archbishop Prendergast rallied to tie the game late in regulation and then win it in overtime as they downed host Hallahan, 4-3. Devon Nestel tied the game in the 72nd minute before Cait Kerrigan scored the winner six minutes into overtime.

Suburban One. Fran Donato recorded a hat trick and Megan Schafer accompanied her goal with a pair of assists as host Neshaminy eased past National division foe Bensalem, 6-0. This was the first-three goal game for the freshman Donato. In other Suburban One action, Sammi Kidd scored the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the second half to lift Norristown to a 2-1 win at Upper Dublin.

Temple-bound senior Sarah Scheidell scored a goal and added an assist as host Council Rock North knocked off Pennsbury, 3-0.

Stevi Parker scored on a penalty kick in the 68th minute to lift Pennridge to a 1-0 win at Hatboro-Horsham.  

Nonleague. After Cardinal O'Hara scored twice in the second half to forced overtime, visiting Interboro rallied to pull off the 2-1 win. Morgan Loomis scored 1:47 into overtime to hand the Buccaneers their sixth win of the season.

Tennis

Class AAA. Conestoga eased past visiting Mount St. Joseph, 5-0, in the first round. The Pioneers advance to play Downingtown West. At first singles, Lauren Banner defeated Morgan Weiss, 6-1, 6-2.

After losing both doubles matches to open the contest, Upper Dublin rallied for three straight wins to knock off Pennsbury, 3-2. Alyssa Bergman clinched the match at first singles with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Fona Hussian.

Class AA. Host Phoenixville knocked off Villa Maria, 4-1. Emily Torchiana rallied to down Lexi Crovetti, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, at second singles.
