The Masterman dynasty in Public League girls' volleyball continued this season as the Blue Dragons claimed their sixth consecutive league championship with a 25-20, 23-25, 26-16, 25-11 victory over Northeast on Wednesday at Lincoln.

The Masterman defense kept the ball in play en route to its 92d straight win in league competition.

Camille Green had 34 digs, eight kills, and three aces, and Taneil Ruffin posted 26 assists and three kills.

"The girls have a great work ethic," Masterman coach Dave Lieber said, "and they progressed as the season went along. They played with a sense of confidence each game.

"Today they were very consistent. We played good defense and wore them down physically and mentally. We were able to sustain play much longer, and that had an effect on Northeast."

The Blue Dragons also featured Taylor Curtis' eight kills and four blocks, and Sophia Elliot's 14 digs, nine kills, and three blocks.

Masterman will face Lansdale Catholic in the District 12 Class AA championship match at 4 p.m. at Lincoln, and Northeast advances to the District 12 Class AAA final against Archbishop Carroll on Friday in the second part of the doubleheader.

"We set goals at the beginning of the season," Lieber said, "and winning the Public League title was one of them. But when you get this far along, every team can be vulnerable and the girls realized that."
