Pa. Boys: Frankford tops Bishop McDevitt in OT, 80-76

Opening the McBride Tournament at Haverford School, Williams erupted for a career-high 21 points, supporting a 29-point game by teammate Imire Taylor.

In the second game, Haverford School whipped Gospel of Grace, 81-45, with points from 11 players, including Semaj Reed with 18.

Dave Mercer Invitational. Host Hill School needed overtime to win its opening game in the eight-team tournament, 62-55, over the Perkiomen School. Josh Heyliger (23) and Hans Brase each had a basket and two foul shots in the 9-2 extra period.

Make A Wish Tournament. Shipley used a solid inside game to subdue Penn Charter, 50-42, in the event at Germantown Academy. The Gators' Chima Nwakpuda had 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Suburban One. Down by eight points with a minute to go, Cheltenham used pressure defense to stun host Upper Dublin, 60-59. Nafis Walker (21) made two clinching foul shots with eight seconds left.

Wissahickon erupted for a 20-9 third quarter and pulled away from host Plymouth Whitemarsh for a 52-41 win. Jordan Reed led the assault with 17 second-half points.

Central Bucks East outlasted host North Penn, 49-48, as Ryan O'Neil collected 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

Central Bucks West used Tyler Schechter's 21 points and a 16-5 run to turn a 23-23 halftime tie into a 39-28 lead en route to a 56-49 win over visiting Souderton.

Zac Fitzgerald saved all of his seven points for the fourth quarter, helping Council Rock South lock up a 57-52 win over visiting Truman.

Ches-Mont. Unionville's Brandon Rusinque tossed in 10 points in a 17-11 fourth quarter that rallied the Indians to a 47-44 win at Bishop Shanahan.

Wrestling

St. Joseph's Prep needed Criteria H, the first points of the match, to win the tiebreaker and beat visiting Northeast after the teams battled to a 37-37, nonleague deadlock. Kyle Donnelly moved up to 120 pounds for the final bout and earned a second-period pin to knot the score.
