MaryKate O'Brien completed a three-point play with one second left in the game to break a tie and give Penn Charter a dramatic, 45-42 win over Shipley in the Make A Wish Girls' Basketball Classic on Friday at Germantown Academy.

Shipley led by 25-24 at halftime, but Penn Charter rallied behind Dee Thomas-Palmer (18 points) and Danielle Sienko (10). O'Brien had eight points, and Shipley got 13 from Aja Ellison.

In the second game, host Germantown Academy beat Archbishop Ryan, 41-28, as Kiernan McCloskey had 26 rebounds for her second straight 20-plus rebound effort this week. The Patriots' Jaryn Garner contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Abington Friends Coaches vs. Cancer. Agnes Irwin broke open a close game with a 14-1 fourth-quarter run, upending Little Flower, 40-25. Faith DeVlieger and Emily Wetz combined for 11 points in the last period.

Baldwin's Jennifer Motter scored on a putback with 10 seconds left and added a foul shot that wrapped up a 34-32 win over host Abington Friends.

Central. Marple Newtown, which outscored visiting Springfield (Delco) by 37-16 over the two middle periods, claimed a 46-42 win to open the school's new gym. Melissa Levy helped the Tigers with 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Erica Brown added 10 points and 10 boards.

Radnor relied on a career-high 26 points by senior guard Hannah Rose Nussbaum to defeat visiting Harriton, 65-47. Hannah Schug hit 10 of her 12 points in a 33-16 first half.

Jessie Porter netted 19 points and Tessa Wade added 18 while guiding Lower Merion past host Garnet Valley, 44-36.

Amber Graves got off to a slow start for Strath Haven but scored a dozen second-half points after being held scoreless in the first half and the Panthers beat visiting Penncrest, 43-28.

Suburban One. Cheltenham won an early-season meeting of unbeatens, 51-41, over visiting Upper Dublin as Ciarra Andrews was 10 for 10 at the foul line in the fourth quarter, and Christina Coleman and Ming Seawright had nine rebounds apiece.

Pioneer Athletic. Pottsgrove trailed visiting Pottstown by three points after three quarters but made 12 of 14 fourth-period foul shots to win, 43-34. Marisa Kinneer led the Falcons with 13 points.

Boyertown's Kaitlyn Eisenhard piled up 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals in a 72-38 triumph over visiting Perkiomen Valley.

Ches-Mont. Alison Lewis, a 5-foot-10 sophomore guard, tossed in 19 points and worked inside for nine rebounds and four blocked shots while guiding Unionville past visiting Bishop Shanahan, 54-43.

Bicentennial. Freshman Emma Dorshimer nailed three third-quarter treys as Jenkintown upended host Phil-Mont Christian, 39-28.

Bristol's Morgan Cullen scored the game's first 12 points and finished with 28 as the Warriors whipped host Plumstead Christian, 51-15.

Public. Taylour Jones (19) and Lauren Wills (18) helped Northeast score 27 of the game's first 31 points en route to a 64-33 win over visiting Washington. Wills also grabbed a dozen rebounds.

Communications Tech's Ashanti Wallace provided 21 points and 19 rebounds during a 62-19 triumph over visiting Math, Civics & Sciences.

Frankford's Angela Dyer hit a trio of three-point shots in an 18-point performance that led to a 34-28 win over visiting Kensington.

Swenson's season opened with a 45-30 win over visiting Carroll as Bridget Giedemann led the Lions in scoring (21) and rebounding (10), and Shaquay Small grabbed eight boards.
