Wed. Pa. boys' roundup: Episcopal walks past Perkiomen

Episcopal Academy showed patience at the plate and worked a pair of bases-loaded walks to walk off with a 4-3 win over visiting Perkiomen School in a nonleague baseball game on Wednesday.

Anthony Peretti tied the game with his RBI walk, and sophomore catcher Anthony Feliziani drove home the winning run just two batters later. Junior shortstop Doug Trimble went 1 for 2 with a double and scored the winning run.

In other nonleague action, Callan Palmer stroked a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth and host Lower Moreland edged Church Farm, 6-5. Palmer finished 2 for 4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Pioneer. In a battle of division leaders, Shane Allen led Phoenixville over host Methacton, 6-4. He struck out five in a complete game and went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Clayton Hawrick went 2 for 2 with two runs scored for the home team.

Phoenixville (6-2) is in first place in the Frontier Division, and Methacton (8-2) entered the game as the leader of the Liberty.

Catholic. Ian Conwell went 3 for 4 and Rick Norwood drove in two runs as Lansdale Catholic dropped visiting Archbishop Wood, 8-2.

Mario DiFebbo went 2 for 3 with an RBI to help lift Neumann-Goretti over visiting Conwell-Egan, 6-1. Joe Kinee posted the win with seven strikeouts over seven innings.

Suburban One. Marty Martens singled over the left fielder's head to drive home the winning run as host Central Bucks West edged Hatboro-Horsham, 4-3. Sam Lis scored the winning run after he reached on a single and stole second.

Steve Hink's two RBIs and Kyle Wenger's two runs helped Souderton down visiting Pennridge, 6-3. Mike Kacergis went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for Pennridge.

Greg McDonough went 2 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs to help lead host Wissahickon over visiting Norristown, 11-6. Peter Bogdon added a homer and three RBIs.

Central. Ridley rallied for six runs in the top of the seventh and downed Strath Haven, 8-4. Matt Davis scorched a three-run double with two outs and two strikes to hand Ridley a 6-4 lead. He also picked up the win with three innings of relief.

Mike Koreick's two-out, two-run single in the fifth inning helped seal Radnor's 4-0 win over visiting Lower Merion. Adam Berkis picked up a one-out save as he forced the only batter he faced to fly out with the bases loaded.

Dalton Mayberry struck out five and Scott Scherer went 2 for 3 to help Garnet Valley roll at Springfield (Delco), 12-2.

Joe Kelly went 3 for 3 with a pair of runs scored to lift Marple Newtown over visiting Haverford High, 9-5.

Bicentennial. Tyler Scheuer scored the winning run and struck out eight in a complete game to help host Calvary Christian edge Jenkintown, 2-1.

Lacrosse

Mark Ostrazewski turned away 11 shots and three players scored two goals each to lead host Archbishop Ryan past Archbishop Wood, 8-7, in a Catholic League game.

Timmy Taylor, Steve Buchinsky, and John Lee scored twice, and Taylor added an assist.

Also in the Catholic League, St. Joseph's Prep rolled past visiting Cardinal O'Hara, 13-2. Nick Ellis scored three times, and Pat Walsh connected twice. Scott Scheuerle added three assists, and Pat Swanick had two.
