Washington Twp. girls top Eastern in lacrosse

Senior midfielder Megan Tiernan's second-half hat trick helped Washington Township, ranked third in South Jersey girls' lacrosse by The Inquirer, rally for a 10-8 home win over No. 7 Eastern on Monday in an Olympic Conference game.

Tiernan finished with three goals and an assist, and Laura Breen also had a hat trick for the Minutemaids. Eastern's Alexa Rubino led all scorers with four goals.

In another Olympic match, Krista LaMaina (four goals, one assist) and Ellie O'Neill (three goals, two assists) led Collingswood to a 9-7 triumph at West Deptford.

Paige Paratore (four goals) and Rachel Krott (three goals) accounted for all the Eagles' scoring.

Burlington County. The Hlesciak twins took turns scorching the Cinnaminson defense, with Alex depositing eight goals and Mackenzie netting six in Rancocas Valley's 20-13 home win.

Nonleague. Gianna Bowe, Sara Kramer, Allison McCardell and Kim Tumolo each had a hat trick to fuel sixth-ranked Clearview's 17-2 rout of visiting Mainland.

Softball

Meghan Ryan scored her third run of the day on Skyler Pino's two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving host Gloucester an 8-7 come-from-behind victory over Woodstown in the Tri-County Conference.

Ryan picked up three hits in five at-bats and also knocked in a pair of runs for the Lions, who trailed 7-0 in the fifth inning.

Cape-Atlantic. Kristin Finley raced home on a wild pitch in the fourth inning, supplying all the scoring in Vineland's 1-0 win at Absegami.

Senior lefthander Demi Murray yielded two singles and a pair of walks in keeping Absegami off the scoreboard, while senior righthander Kelly Lupton (13 strikeouts) allowed four hits and two walks in taking the loss.

Olympic. Connor Gilligan drove in five runs with a double and a grand slam, and winning pitcher Jackie Pezzato (3 for 4, 2 runs) helped herself at the plate for host Shawnee, which scored eight times in the fifth inning to put away Cherry Hill East, 10-5.

Susan Wysocki went 2 for 2, scored twice, drove in a run, and also pitched Camden Catholic to a 4-3 home win over Timber Creek.

Brielle Reighn pitched three perfect innings, which is how long it took host Triton to trounce Winslow Township, 15-0.

Burlington County. Alexa Massa led off the home first with a double and scored on Audrey Weller's RBI single, and Weller scattered three hits in pitching her fourth shutout of the season as host Moorestown nipped Delran, 2-0.

Colonial. Shayla Sweeney struck out 11 while limiting Collingswood to two singles and a walk, and Sweeney matched teammate Kristen Resh in batting 2 for 3 with one RBI, helping host Haddon Heights claim a 3-0 win.

Kate Biase doubled twice in going 4 for 5 with two runs and two RBIs, providing more than enough offensive support for Missy Dow, who tossed a three-hitter in Sterling's 8-1 triumph at Haddonfield.

Michele Arechavela (3 for 4, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) and Cara Cargia (2 for 3, 3 RBIs) had the hot bats for Audubon in an 11-1 win at Woodbury.
