Pa. Girls: Kiley makes GA history with 7-goal spree

Brooke Kiley scored seven goals and became Germantown Academy's all-time career scoring leader in a 15-11 win at Penn Charter in Inter-Ac League lacrosse Friday.

With her final goal, Kiley, a senior midfielder, eclipsed Colleen Magarity's mark of 264 set in 2007.

Penn Charter took a 5-3 lead in the first half before the Patriots rallied to go into halftime leading, 7-5.

Hannah Bogorowski scored three times and Allie Carrigan turned away 12 shots for the win. Avery Shoemaker scored six goals for Penn Charter.

In other Inter-Ac action, four players scored three times and Lynda Michaels recorded four assists to help Episcopal Academy down visiting Springside, 17-12. Michaels, Taryn Gallagher, Kristen Hinckley, and Ali Singly recorded hat tricks.

Suburban One. Brooke Callahan scored five times and added four assists as Upper Dublin downed Wissahickon, 17-2, to clinch the American Conference title.

Catholic Academies. Eileen Dombrowski's nine goals and four assists helped lift Sacred Heart over host Villa Joseph Marie, 24-13.

Kerri Shallow added five goals, and Laura Haab had a pair of assists. Maggie Reilly's 17 saves secured the victory.

Friends Schools. Carlie Ladda recorded three assists, and Rachel Shaprio had three goals and two assists as Shipley raced past visiting Westtown, 21-8.

Sophie Cummins, Katie Leyden, and Sophie Katz each scored four goals.

Softball

Nichole Moran singled in a run in the fourth inning before her courtesy runner scored another on an error, and Upper Dublin held on to top visiting Norristown, 2-1, in a Suburban One League game.

Rachel Hyman led off the fourth with a single and moved to second on a passed ball and to third on a fielder's choice. She came home on Moran's hit. Brittany Startzel scored the second run. Kristin Ganderton posted the win with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Also in the Suburban One, Haleigh Stocks pitched all 11 innings and struck out 10 without a walk as Central Bucks South edged host North Penn, 3-1.

Inter-Ac. Bernadette Tankle slid under the catcher's tag in the bottom of the 10th, and Episcopal Academy topped visiting Springside, 8-7.

Tankle started the inning on second base and moved to third on a fielder's choice. She then scored on Julieanna Longen's bunt single.

Gabby Donatucci had two RBIs for Episcopal, and Alex Viscusi picked up the win.

Ches-Mont. Kate Poppe pitched a six-inning shutout and struck out 13 as Bishop Shanahan blanked host West Chester Henderson, 12-0.

Nonleague. Brianna Cullen singled with two outs in the seventh to complete a seven-run inning as Germantown Academy erased a six-run deficit to top visiting Springfield (Montco), 12-11.

Mariel Becker scored the winning run on the single. Elisa Novak and Tyler Wellington had two-run doubles in the inning.
