Seykora, Wilson set marks at Inter-Ac

Distance standouts Maria Seykora of Notre Dame and Dustin Wilson of Chestnut Hill Academy took advantage of Saturday's warm weather to turn in some hot times at the Inter-Ac League track and field championships at Germantown Academy.

Seykora set girls' meet records in winning the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs with times of 4 minutes, 57.30 seconds and 11:34.48, led off the winning 4x400 relay, and captured the girls' athlete of the meet award.

In the boys' meet, Wilson set a meet record of 4:18.17 in the 1,600 and won the 3,200 by a margin of 30 seconds with a time of 9:36.46.

Tom Pitt of team champion Malvern Prep won the Greenwood Award for compiling the most points after winning the high jump at 6 feet, 6 inches, the long jump (22-31/4), and the triple jump (42-21/2), and placing third in the 100.

Suburban One National. The conference team titles were closely contested at William Tennent as Bensalem clipped Council Rock North by seven points in the boys' competition, and Pennsbury edged Council Rock South by 12 points in the girls' meet.

Bensalem was led by Qhyle Elijah's wins in the 200 (22.11) and 400 (48.61) dashes, and Neshaminy's Cody Minnig set a meet record of 22-10 in the long jump.

Pennsbury sprinter Zakiyyah Richardson won the girls' 100 (12.14) and 200 (25.09), and Council Rock South's Paige McDowell (both hurdles) and Bensalem's Tyra Roberts (shot, discus) also won two events each.

Suburban One Continental. Pennridge swept the boys' and girls' team titles in the conference championships at Central Bucks South.

The Pennridge girls were led by Marissa Sheva, who won a battle with distance standouts Tori Gerlach of Pennridge and Meghan McGovern of North Penn in the 800 (2:14.76) and 1,600 meters (4:54.98), and also ran on the 4x800 relay team.

In the boys' meet, Central Bucks South's Ryan Hynes went home with four gold medals, beating Hatboro-Horsham's Corey Hackett by four-hundredths of a second in the 200 (22.16), winning the 300 hurdles (38.09) and long jump (22-3/4), and leading off the winning 4x100 relay.

Central Bucks West's Corey Smith cleared 14-6 in the pole vault, and Hatboro-Horsham's Sam Hibbs posted a speedy 4:15.96 in the 1,600.

Suburban One American. Jalen Ramsey of Norristown high- jumped 6 feet, 9 inches for a boys' meet record at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

Wissahickon won the team title by six points over Upper Dublin, aided by wins from Maxmilian Hairston in the two hurdles races.

Cheltenham used wins by Kayla Coley in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, plus Ciara Andrews' long jump of 17-31/4 to win the team trophy.

Pioneer Athletic. Double winners Katie Catania (100, triple jump) and Kara Steinke (1,600, 3,200) steered Methacton to the girls' team title in the league championships at Boyertown.

Spring-Ford won just five events but took the boys' title with 152 points. Andrew Scanlan threw the javelin 186-8 and Ryan Pierson pole-vaulted 13-6 for the Rams.

Bicentennial. Holy Ghost Prep won 12 of 18 boys' events to claim the team title at home.

Ryan Horgan led the Firebirds by winning the 800 meters in 1:57.39 and the 1,600 in 4:26.28, and running on the winning 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams.

Lindsay Boerner's wins in the 100 and 200 dashes helped Lower Moreland grab the girls' team trophy.

Mid-Atlantic Prep. Hill School's Quinn Davis set a meet record of 4:18.37 in winning the boys' 1,600 meters, and added a first place in the 3,200 in the league championships on his home track.
