Burlington Twp. posts a sweep in quad meet

Burlington Township swept its Burlington County wrestling quadrangular meet on Friday night as the Falcons rolled past Palmyra, Delran and Willingboro.

Against Palmyra, Christian Smith grabbed a 54-second pin at 145 pounds to help Burlington Township to a 54-30 win.

The Falcons captured six wins by fall, including five straight between 145 and 182 pounds. Connor Quinn (152 pounds) and Nicholas Conway (160) both captured falls in 1:19.

Liam Kelly recorded a 3:23-pin at 113 pounds to lead Palmyra. Kevin Hernando added a pin in 1:24 at heavyweight.

Nicholas Conway's 5-3 sudden victory at 160 pounds helped Burlington Township down Delran, 36-34.

Matthew Senni followed it up with a 10-6 decision at 170 pounds and Michael Steve needed just 25 seconds to record a pin at 182 pounds.

Sam Lillis led the way for Delran with a 1:25-pin at 195 pounds and Peter Evola chipped in with a pin in 1:53 at 113 pounds.

In the win against Willingboro, Quinn recorded his third victory of the night as the Falcons rolled, 54-24.

Quinn recorded a 42-second pin at 152 pounds and Senni added a 34-second pin at 170 pounds. Luis Carreras earned a 5-2 decision at 285 pounds and Davante Giles eased to a 9-2 win at 132 pounds.

Delran beat Palmyra, 57-24, as the Bears captured each weight class from 106 to 170 pounds. Peter Evola recorded a pin in 3:30 at 113 pounds and Marcus Miraglia needed just 36 seconds to secure a pin at 120 pounds.

Palmyra won each weight class from 182 to 285 pounds, including Cody Wallace's 50-second pin at 220. Kevin Hernando added a pin at heavyweight.

Delran posted another win as it downed Willingboro, 60-24, behind seven pins.

Colin Segan captured the quickest pin in 54 seconds at 126 pounds. Sam Lillis pinned Essence Franklin in 1:10 at 195 pounds and David George notched a pin at 220 pounds.

Keshawn Thorpe led Willingboro with a 41-second pin at 106 pounds.

Hernando's 9-6 win by decision helped Palmyra capture a 45-30 win against Willingboro. Wallace also added another pin as he took down Bashir Richardson in 3:21.

Lawrance Forman added a pin in 1:03 at 120 pounds and Julian Figueroa recorded a pin at 170 pounds in 3:22.

Willingboro was led by Pierre Valere's 6-4 decision at 152 pounds and Anthony Leonard's 15-9 decision at 132 pounds.

Olympic Conference. Sean Cahill's 8-6 decision at 120 pounds helped Shawnee capture a 43-26 win over Eastern. The Renegades won five straight matches between 170 pounds and 285 pounds, including four by pin.

Alex Foley highlighted the streak with his pin at 170 and was aided by Evan Wayns' 44-second pin at 220 pounds. Wayns' fall stood as the quickest of the night.

Nonleague. Cherokee won six matches by forfeit en route to an easy 69-12 win at Camden.

Brendan Gumm captured a 45-second pin at 182 pounds and Christopher Cole pulled out a 6-1 decision at 220 pounds. Camden's Andrew Stevens won by pin in 2:48 at 285 pounds.

John Seybold's 6-0 decision at 106 pounds helped set the tone for Clearview as Pitman rolled to a 51-21 win.

Robby Wittman added a 33-second pin at 138 pounds and John Vanbrill followed at 145 pounds with a pin in 22 seconds.

Clearview was led by Mark Camma's 5-3 decision at 182 pounds and Sean Cressman's pin at 220.

Paulsboro won 10 of the 11 bouts from 113 and 195 pounds as the Red Raiders dropped Kingsway, 44-18.

Ronald Gentile captured a 54-second pin at 145 pounds and Jim Sutton rolled to a 10-1 major decision at 195 pounds.

Billy Leone captured a fall in 49 seconds at 220 pounds to lead Kingsway. Nick Duca added a 5-3 decision at 106 pounds.

Pennsauken captured four pins and five forfeits as it cruised past Riverside, 53-27.

Zachary Trost won in 2:45 at 170 pounds and Jacob Henderson added a 31-second pin at 126 pounds.

Justin Gross grabbed a pin at 113 pounds for Riverside, Nick Weydig added a fall at 132 pounds.
