Miller went the distance, giving up one hit and issuing two walks. He struck out eight.

Camden Catholic opened the scoring in the third inning with Shawn Stone's RBI single. Dom Messina delivered the game's only extra-base hit in the fourth when he drove in a run with a double.

Camden Catholic will face third-seeded Bishop Eustace in the second round. The two teams have split four meetings this year, with Camden Catholic winning the last two matchups.

Softball

Haddon Heights stormed past sixth-seeded Riverside, 10-0, in the South Jersey Group 1 quarterfinals.

Shayla Sweeney earned the win for the third seed, giving up two hits and fanning six in six innings.

Mattie McCleery ended the game with a two-run home run in the fifth inning.
