Bensalem 1, Plymouth Whitemarsh 0 - Brian Kilcoyne headed in a throw-in from Eric Corry with just 51 seconds left to give the visiting Owls the win.

Conestoga 2, Central Bucks East 1 (OT) - Dave Zipkin scored in regulation, and the Pioneers won by 5-4 in penalty kicks at Central Bucks West.

Central Bucks West 1, Ridley 0 - Steven Warner played a ball over the defense and found Jared Kelly for a first-half goal, and the host Bucks held on. Kelly ran down the pass and chipped it over the goalie with eight minutes left.

Dist. 12 Cross-Country

Cardinal O'Hara's Kevin James needed to edge his own teammate to win the Class AAA title at Belmont Plateau.

The junior navigated the 3.1-mile course in 16 minutes, 28.12 seconds - 3.7 seconds ahead of O'Hara senior Jim Belfatto. The Lions placed five runners in the top 10 to take the team title.

La Salle's Brendan Bilotta (16:38.50) was third.

Class AA. Kyle Ortiz of Archbishop Wood finished in 17:16.18 for first place, and the Vikings finished with six runners in the top 10 to grab the team title.

Class A. Masterman's Julian Degroot-Lutzner cruised to a 17:12.52, first-place finish, and the Dragons put all seven of their runners in the top 10 to roll to the team title.

Public League soccer

Senior Tyler Gormley scored three times, and Northeast raced past visiting Prep Charter, 6-1, in the semifinals. Adin Hernandez-Carrera added a goal and one assist.

In the other semifinal, Central topped Philadelphia Academy Charter, 2-1.

Central will play at Northeast at 5 p.m. Tuesday for the league title.

Football

Kharee Ruley rushed for a school-record 258 yards on 37 carries as Furness blitzed Olney, 16-0, in a nonleague game at the South Philadelphia super site. The junior scored a pair of touchdowns, and his mark topped Shariff Smith's 256 yards in 2009.

Overbrook 16, Dobbins 14 - Nasir Mickens rushed for a 3-yard TD with 4:32 left and Maurice Jarmon tacked on the two-point conversion to push the visiting Panthers ahead.

Recruiting

Former Coatesville wide receiver Dre Boggs committed to Rutgers. The 5-foot-11 Boggs is spending a postgraduate year at Avon Old Farms in Avon, Conn.

Basketball. Neumann-Goretti point guard Tory Harper gave an oral commitment to Campbell on Wednesday night. ESPN ranks him as the state's fifth-best player in the senior class.
