Coaches. In his second year at Imhotep, Albie Crosby is 26-3. South Fayette's Joe Rossi has a 94-39 career mark. He is 68-16 in seven years with the Lions.

How Imhotep can win. On offense, the Panthers (12-2) must continue to lean on a mammoth offensive line that features center Gordon Thomas (6 feet, 305 pounds), guard Aaron Ruff (6-5, 280), and tackle Taleem Muhammad (6-6, 300). That would mean plenty of touches for speedy halfbacks Nasir Bonner, Mike Waters, and Tyliek Raynor. To keep South Fayette from loading the box, QB Andre Dreuitt-Parks should mix in throws to dynamic wideout Denniston Moore and others. Since the Lions go to the air often, Imhotep needs a strong pass rush from a line that includes ends Qwamere Wright-Downing and Shaka Toney. Also key for the Panthers is containing senior wideout and Penn recruit Justin Watson.

How South Fayette can win. In a pass-happy attack, junior QB Brett Brumbaugh has completed 228 of 371 passes for 3,611 yards and 38 TDs. He must have continued success in finding Watson and fellow receivers Connor Beck and Logan Sharp. If Imhotep closes the passing lanes, the Lions (15-0) would need Grant Fetchet (1,343 rushing yards, 21 TDs) to be a threat on the ground. An undersize offensive line has to keep Imhotep's pass rushers from getting into the backfield regularly. The line includes center Spencer Girman (5-11, 205) and tackles Ben Berkovitz (6-2, 225) and Anthony Davidson (6-2, 215). The special-teams coverage unit can't allow big punt or kickoff returns.

Fast fact. Imhotep has 13 players with Division I-A or I-AA scholarship offers. Ruff is headed to Temple; Deandre Scott, a multipurpose star, has committed to Arizona State.
