Cherry Hill East holds off Highland

The Cougars held a 24-8 advantage after the first quarter before the Tartans stormed back. Cherry Hill East was paced by 22 points from Timmy Perry, who added six rebounds and eight blocks.

The tournament's other game saw Camden come from a nine-point deficit early to cruise to a 49-33 victory over Williamstown. Jamal Holloway netted 15 points and collected 14 rebounds for the Panthers. The Braves were held to 13 points after the first quarter.

Girls' Basketball

The Andrew Alameno Girls Island Championship Game pitted Wildwood Catholic against Wildwood at the Wildwood Convention Center, but it was Kennedy Johnson of Galloway Township, N.J., who proved to be the difference.

Trailing by a point at halftime, the Crusaders outscored the Warriors 17-5 in the third quarter en route to a 48-39 win. Johnson, a Michigan State recruit, scored 10 of her team-high 12 points in the third quarter. Danielle Sanderlin scored 11 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
