Six-run first lifts Radnor in win
A three-run triple by Ross Eversole in the first inning helped set the tone for visiting Radnor in its 8-6 road victory over Shipley in a nonleague game Saturday.
A three-run triple by Ross Eversole in the first inning helped set the tone for visiting Radnor in its 8-6 road victory over Shipley in a nonleague game Saturday.
Eversole's triple came in the midst of a six-run first inning. The Raiders would not score again until the sixth inning.
Eversole was not the only offensive-minded Raider. Matt Schaeffer also tripled and freshman Sean Mullarkey went 3 for 3 with one run scored.
Brad Henkin picked up his first varsity save.
In other nonleague action:
Colin Eiser had two hits and two RBIs and scored three runs as host Springside Chestnut Hill defeated Neumann-Goretti, 11-6.
Brady DiGiacomo went 3 for 3 with four runs scored and four stolen bases as host Interboro ran over Bonner-Prendergast, 9-0.
Luke Marmer had a double and two stolen bases to help visiting Haverford High shut out Interboro, 13-0. Mike Garcia pitched two innings and earned the win.
Ben Longacre went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and host Boyertown defeated Woodrow Wilson, 7-1. Mike Hohlfeld earned the win for the Bears.
In the first game of a doubleheader, Levi Stoudt moved to 4-1 and knocked in a run to give the Perkiomen School a 6-1 win at Episcopal Academy.
In the second game, David Juechter had a double and an RBI as the Panthers defeated the Churchmen, 8-7.
Central League. Dylan Armstrong gave up one run in five innings and knocked in one run to pace Penncrest to a 5-2 home victory over Ridley.
Lacrosse
Andrew Towne scored five goals and Jimmy McAfee had four goals and one assist as visiting Germantown Academy edged Manheim Township, 12-10, in nonleague play. LeRoy Moser stopped 11 shots for the Patriots.
In other nonleague action:
Kyle Anderson had three goals and two assists and Quinn McCahon had three goals to lead Malvern Prep to a 14-8 home win over Strath Haven. Sean Christman converted 21 of 27 faceoffs for the Friars.
Tate Gallagher scored six goals but host Shipley Fell to New York's Fordham Prep, 15-13.
Catholic League. Austin Slawter had five goals, George Weiss had four goals, and Brody Alloway made 16 saves as visiting Archbishop Ryan defeated Conwell-Egan, 13-5.
