Shawnee tips Holy Spirit in showcase

Chiusano, a 6-foot-7 senior center, made 7 of 16 shots from the floor, matched five offensive rebounds with five defensive boards, and helped the Renegades to a 24-16 scoring advantage in the paint.

Josh Borelli also scored 18 points, and Holy Spirit got a game-high 25 points from Jatecq Chesul.

The Renegades, ranked No. 3 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, led by 56-52 before Chesul hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.

Also at Ocean City, Egg Harbor Township followed Rahim Bunch's 18 points and a 14-0 scoring edge on fast-break points to beat Cape May Tech, 53-40.

Girls' Basketball

Our Lady of Mercy rallied from a five-point fourth-quarter deficit and jolted Mainland, 51-47, in the Ocean City PBA Tipoff Weekend.

Anne Brewer scored 19 points, snagged 13 rebounds and had two steals for OLMA.

Wrestling

Eastern's Robert Deutsch won three straight one-point decisions, including a 2-1 verdict over Christianburg's Joey Dance, to capture the 119-pound championship at the 18th annual Beast of East Tournament at the University of Delaware.

Deutsch won six matches in the prestigious two-day event, starting with two pins and a technical fall before edging Robinson's Jake Smith, 2-1, in the quarterfinals and clipping Blair Academy's Caleb Richardson, 3-2, in the semifinals.

Williamstown's C.J. Cobb took third place at 145, rebounding from a 3-1 semifinal loss to Matoaca'scq Blake Ruolo with a consolation win over Don Bosco Prep's Sal Mastriani.

Haddonfield placed 45th in the team standings with 41.5 points, and Eastern followed with 40.5 in a field of 102 schools.
