Penn State recruit Isheem Young accounted for two touchdowns as Imhotep Charter cruised past Cardinal O'Hara, 40-7, in the District 12 Class 4A final.
Young's 26-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter gave the Panthers a 13-7 edge at the half. Young added to the lead when he returned a punt 36 yards for a score.
Tykee Smith put the game out of reach with a 16-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Symear Williams tacked on a 54-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Running back Taseer Jones scored the lone touchdown for the Lions (7-4). The Panthers (10-1) will play Valley View next week in the state quarterfinals.
Coatesville 42, Pennsbury 2
Ricky Ortega accounted for four touchdowns as Coatesville handled Pennsbury in the semifinals of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs.
Aaron Young scored a touchdown on offense and defense in the first half to lead the Red Raiders to a 28-0 lead. Ortega put the game away in the second half with a rushing and passing touchdown.
The Red Raiders lost to these Falcons (10-3) in the 2014 district title game. They have scored 38 or more points in each of their last 11 outings.
Coatesville (12-1) is now one win away from its first district crown since 2012.
Garnet Valley 28, Pennridge 20
Matt Lassik's 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter proved to be the difference in Garnet Valley's victory over Pennridge in the District 1 Class 6A semifinals.
After Danny Guy returned a punt 89 yards for a touchdown, Lassik scored to make it 28-14 Garnet Valley (12-1).
Cooper Chaikin scored for Pennridge (10-3) with two minutes to play, but the Jaguars recovered the ensuing onside kick.
Unionville 36, Marple Newtown 21
Unionville held Marple Newtown scoreless in the second half to secure a spot in the District 1 Class 5A title game.
Joe Zubillaga owned a Marple Newtown defensive back on a 49-yard touchdown pass and then converted the two-point conversion, making it 29-21 Indians in the third quarter. Zubillaga added a 3-yard touchdown run to give Unionville a 36-21 edge with 5:28 to play.
Alden Mathes threw three touchdowns in the first half for the Tigers (8-5), who were without injured starting quarterback Anthony Paoletti. Dash Dulgerian had two touchdown cathes.
The Indians (12-1) will play Springfield (Delco) next week for the District 1 title.
Bethlehem Catholic 49, Pottsgrove 14
Pottsgrove star running back Rahsul Faison became the PAC's all-time leader for rushing yards in a season, but the Falcons fell to Bethlehem Catholic in the first round of the PIAA Class 4A playoffs.
Faison broke Ryan Brumfield's record midway through the second quarter when he scored on a 79-yard run. Faison finished the season with 42 touchdowns.
The Falcons (11-2) were coming off a victory over Upper Perkiomen in the District 1 title game. Bethlehem Catholic (11-2) beat Saucon Valley in the District 11 final.
