Ron Curry found the range in the fourth quarter.

By then, Paul VI was well on its way to an 81-37 victory over Camden on Tuesday in an Olympic Conference boys' basketball game.

But when the junior guard buried a trio of three-pointers in the space of five possessions early in the fourth period, it was another sign that the undefeated Eagles, the No. 3 team in South Jersey in The Inquirer Top 10, are rounding into midseason form.

"My shots are finally starting to fall," said the 6-foot-2 Curry, who scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. "I took a lot of shots this summer. It's finally paying off."

Curry was coming off a holiday-week tournament at Paul VI in which he scored 24 and 27 points in overtime victories over Philadelphia opponents.

His scoring is an added element for the Eagles, who ran their record to 6-0 with a dominant victory over the struggling Panthers.

Camden (0-5) was playing its first game under interim coach Al Dyer, the school's athletic director.

Dyer replaced Mike Stargell, who resigned Monday after two-plus seasons.

"Unfortunately, the first game was against one of the premier teams in South Jersey," Dyer said of Paul VI.

Junior center Roosevelt Cubbage led the Eagles with 18 points, and freshman forward Matt Risse bounced off the bench to score 13.

Curry, junior guard Kris O'Conner (12 points), and senior swingman Rob Poole (six points, six rebounds) combined to hit nine three-pointers.

"Everybody is playing together and playing defense," Curry said.

Senior forward Cyre Rochon scored 15 for Camden.
