Haddonfield senior Will Manion has committed to attend William and Mary on a swimming scholarship.

Manion is the reigning state champion in the 200-yard individual medley. He has helped Haddonfield to three consecutive South B titles, as well as the state title in 2010.

"I wish I could start today," Manion said of attending William and Mary. "It's just a great team atmosphere, and I love the academics."

Manion has best times of 1 minute, 52.96 seconds in the 200 IM and 50.05 seconds in the 100 backstroke. He won the state title in the 200 IM last season and also placed third in the 100 backstroke.

Manion said he plans to major in psychology and perhaps minor in business, with an eye toward attending law school. He said he also considered Michigan, Connecticut, and Bucknell, among other schools.
