Tues. S.J. girls' roundup: GCIT wins at Wildwood

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology girls' basketball team won a nonleague matchup Tuesday at Wildwood, 57-45. Junior Taylor Favinger scored 15 points to go along with 11 rebounds and five steals to pace GCIT. The McGinn sisters, Ashley and Alexis, scored 17 and 10, respectively. Jessica Freeman led Wildwood with 20 points.

In other nonleague action, Clearview rolled to a 36-12 lead over visiting Pitman at the half on its way to a 59-27 win. Senior guard Sara Kramer tied her career high for Clearview with 21 points, and sophomore forward Kennedi Thompson also hit double digits with 14 points.

Ten players scored for Triton in its 57-29 win at Pennsville. Triton led by 23-8 after one quarter and by 38-12 at the half. Samantha Funk paced Triton with 14 points.

Woodrow Wilson junior Chanelle Perry recorded 34 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals, and 5 blocked shots in a 61-53 win over Cherokee. Wilson outscored Cherokee, 35-27, after a halftime tie.

Gloucester used a strong third quarter to put away visiting Delsea, 53-42. After a tie score at halftime, Gloucester outscored Delsea, 18-7 in the decisive third quarter. Madison McClintock had a game-high 17 points for Gloucester and Alisha Fox added 16. Nicole Carney led Delsea with nine points.

Cinnaminson led Pennsauken, 27-10, at halftime and held on for a 49-35 win. Jamie Campbell scored 21 points and Naja Treadwell added 13 for Cinnaminson. Tanel Lewis was the only Pennsauken girl to reach double digits with 18.

Colonial. Collingswood led Overbrook by 13-0 after the first quarter and was not threatened the rest of the way en route to a 35-19 win at home. Senior point guard Ellie O'Neill led Collingswood with 14 points, five assists, and five steals.

In other Colonial Conference action, Haddon Township's defense dominated in a 54-12 rout of visiting Lindenwold. Sophomore Bella Prezisi scored eight of her 16 points in the first quarter. Haddon Township led, 33-6, at the half.

Cape-Atlantic National. St. Joseph won, 50-25, over visiting Buena. The game was close most of the way until St. Joseph scored 18 in the fourth quarter while holding Buena scoreless. Dana DiRenzo scored seven of her game-high 15 points in the decisive quarter. Junior point guard Gabby Judo contributed eight steals and seven assists.

Friends Schools. Moorestown Friends crossed the Delaware River and defeated George School, 34-22. George School trailed by only four entering the fourth, but a strong 11-4 quarter by Moorestown Friends sealed the outcome. Senior guard Jessica Minderjahn had eight points, 12 steals, and six rebounds in the losing effort for George School.

Olympic National. Bishop Eustace used a strong second-half performance to complete a 62-51 come-from-behind win over host Seneca. After trailing by two at the half, Eustace outscored Seneca by 15-12 in the third and by 22-12 in the fourth quarter. Taylor Hudspeth led the way for Eustace with a game-high 24 points.

Burlington County Freedom. New Egypt won at Florence, 33-22. New Egypt's Alexa Magnotta matched Florence's point total by scoring 22.
