Cherry Hill East swats away Cherokee

Brown blocked a three-point try that would have given Cherokee the win. Cherokee stayed alive for a last-second shot after Cherry Hill East missed the front end of a one-and-one with 13 seconds left.

Jake Slipe led Cherry Hill East with nine points, five assists, and three steals. Austin Weltzer also had nine, and Brown finished with six.

Paul Belamy scored a game-high 16 points for Cherokee.

Olympic National. Senior forward Amir Maddred made 6 of 9 free throws in the fourth quarter as Camden edged visiting Bishop Eustace, 53-49. Maddred finished with a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Tri-County Royal. Delsea's Cedric Elleby closed a big second half by converting a three-point play at the buzzer to send the game into overtime, where the Crusaders finished off a 51-47 win over visiting Williamstown. Elleby, a senior forward, scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half. He also had 13 rebounds.

Kingsway opened its season with an 87-51 victory over visiting GCIT. Raekwon Mingledoff scored 15 points.

Tri-County Classic. Senior guard Stefano Okoro scored 12 of his game-high 28 points in the second quarter as host Gloucester rolled to a 57-28 win over Pennsville.

Floyd Nance scored 14 of his game-high 27 in the fourth quarter as Salem won, 79-69, at Clayton.

Colonial Conference. Ryan Dick sank four three-pointers en route to 16 points as Collingswood won at Gateway, 60-15.

Chris Biddle scored 17 points and had nine steals as Haddonfield won at Audubon, 69-23.

Burlington Patriot. Shaun Brooks scored 23 points and had seven offensive rebounds to power host Pemberton to a 72-40 defeat of Delran.

Cape-Atlantic American. Michael Greenman exploded for nine of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as St. Augustine held off Oakcrest, 63-48.

Dionis Gonzalez went 4 for 4 from the line in the final 20 seconds as Mainland pulled out a 42-39 win over visiting Vineland.

Egg Harbor Township used a 19-2 run in the second quarter to spark a 55-42 win against visiting Bridgeton. Khari Harley poured in 33 points.

Nonleague. Rodney Williams hit five three-pointers on his way to 25 points as Cherry Hill West won at Seneca, 49-41.
