Cherry Hill West rolls in quad meet

Cherry Hill West swept a quad-meet at home Saturday, as the Lions topped Absegami, Deptford, and Ocean City in nonleague matchups.

Cherry Hill West swept a quad-meet at home Saturday, as the Lions topped Absegami, Deptford, and Ocean City in nonleague matchups.

West cruised to its wins, topping Absegami, 46-18, Deptford, 68-10, and Ocean City, 55-24.

Cherry Hill West was highlighted by Mark Papeneri and Tyler Brake, who each recorded three pins for the day.

The 145-pound Papeneri did not waste any time as he pinned Absegami's Robert Mears in 1:17, Deptford's Marcus Seeney in 1:12, and Ocean City's Vinny Levin in 56 seconds.

In other nonleague action, host Cherokee won three of its four matches on Saturday.

The Chiefs picked up wins over Camden, 69-12, Sayreville, 53-15, and Schalick, 51-24.

Cherokee lost against Brick Memorial, 40-28.

Joe Lemerise delivered a pin in all three of his matchups on the day wrestling at 138 pounds. His fastest pin came against Justin Rahl of Schalick, whom he pinned in 1:13.

Collingswood earned three wins against host Bordentown, Winslow Township, and Frankford.

The Panthers easily topped Winslow Township and Frankford, winning 53-20 and 60-17, respectively, and squeaked past Bordentown, 37-33.

Forrley Gunby won three matches for Collingswood, picking up pins against Bordentown and Frankford and winning by majority decision against Winslow Township.

Bordentown easily won its other two matches of the afternoon, beating Winslow Township, 47-16, and Frankford, 66-8.

At 113 pounds, Ted Rigas pinned three opponents for Bordentown.

Winslow Township salvaged its day, beating Frankford, 67-12.

Cherry Hill East topped visiting Oakcrest, 39-35, with pins by Andrew Foy, Jerry Peralta, Zach Wohl, and Patrick Swenson.

Hammonton topped Cherry Hill East later in the day, 47-19.

Clearview shutout visiting Westampton Tech/BCIT, 81-0, with the help of nine pins.

St. Augustine won at Haddonfield, 38-24, with pins by Collin Donahue, Jose Tabora, Tyler Sentman, and, Justin Welsh.

Haddonfield responded by beating visiting Raritan, 39-27.

Christian Kreps picked up a pin in 41 seconds in the win.

Sterling, Paul VI, and Gateway/Woodbury each picked up a win at Mainland.

Sterling won, 45-36, Paul VI earned a 51-25 victory, and Gateway/Woodbury topped Mainland, 55-21.

Olympic. Lenape topped visiting Seneca, 34-33.

Connor Gardner and Kyree Mason highlighted Lenape's performance, picking up its only two pins.
