S. Jersey Girls: Fri. S.J. girls: Ellis' double lifts Middle Township

With the game tied in the top of the eighth inning Friday, Madeline Ellis lined a double to right-center field to bring home the go-ahead run for Middle Township in a 3-2 victory at Absegami in nonleague softball.

Brittany Robinson scored the winning run. She had singled with one out advanced to second on a bunt.

In other nonleague action:

Brielle Emery was 2 for 3 with a bases-clearing double for Florence, which defeated visiting Delran, 11-1. Emery finished with three RBIs and two runs.

Pitcher Abby Merryman went seven innings, allowing three earned runs on five hits, to help pick up a 10-3 win for Gloucester Catholic at Schalick. At the plate, Merryman was 3 for 5.

Faith Rivera's fielder's choice in the bottom of the sixth scored Brianna Milillo for what proved to be the winning run for host Timber Creek in a 5-4 triumph over Cherry Hill East. Candice Dunn was 2 for 3 with two doubles and a walk.

Laura Gould finished with a triple and two RBIs for Burlington Township, which traveled to Westampton Tech and earned a 7-1 win. Nicole Feoli and Jacqueline Kott also had triples for the Falcons.

Taylor Warrick finished 3 for 4 with two doubles and two runs for Lenape, which defeated visiting Egg Harbor Township, 9-2. Andrea Polis was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and scored a run.

Shayla Sweeney didn't allow an earned run and struck out five as Haddon Heights won, 3-1, at Hammonton. Becky Transue was 2 for 3 with a solo home run.

Joannah Lim hit a two-run homer to highlight a 14-10 win for Riverside at Cinnaminson. Lim finished with four RBIs.

Cape-Atlantic National. Freshman righthander Alyssa Waddington provided four shutout innings and struck out six to get the win for host Sacred Heart, which blanked Cape May Tech, 9-0.

Catcher Danielle Lugo was 3 for 4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Olympic National. Susan Wysocki earned the win in the circle and hit a triple, helping Camden Catholic beat visiting Seneca, 11-5. Ali Summers also had a triple for the Irish.

Girls' Lacrosse

Kacie Booth led all players scorers with four goals to lift Maple Shade to a 12-9 win at Holy Cross in a Burlington County League Liberty Division matchup.

Lizzy Kerr, Samantha Reader, and Nicole Rohm added two goals each.

In other Burlco Liberty play:

Rachel Ceplo found the net five times for Delran, which traveled to Pennsauken and won, 18-7. Mackenzie Groark put in four goals. Nicole Martin, Leah Ross, and Gabby Sousa each had a hat trick.

Alex Hlesciak netted five goals to power host Rancocas Valley to an 18-13 win over Seneca. Peyton Sventy and Nicole Teschko added three goals each.

Nonleague. Senior midfielder Emily Johnson scored eight goals and assisted on three others for Cherry Hill East, which won, 20-12, over visiting Camden Catholic. Caitlin Delaney added five goals.

Sam Budd scored a game-high four goals to help host West Deptford take down Gloucester Catholic, 15-8. Gabby Minnite had three goals and four assists.
