As Gloucester's softball team piled up runs, sophomore Maddy Chain was able to pitch under little pressure. The results were impressive.

Chain threw a no-hitter against Pitman as the Lions came away with a 10-0 home victory in a Tri-County Conference Classic Division game Wednesday.

Chain struck out six and walked just one. That walk stood between her and a perfect game.

Rayanne Castanga hit a three-run double, and Amanda Boulden was 3 for 3 with a home run and three runs scored.

Cape-Atlantic National. Gabby Castellini got the big hit, a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning, to send Sacred Heart past Buena, 4-2.

Castellini's hit came after a Kelly Hullihen single and a Danielle Lugo walk. Rosie LaGrotta picked up the complete-game win for the Lions.

Burlington County Patriot. Hannah Gavin's home run helped host Bordentown slip past Burlington Township, 2-1.

Brooke Figiel went 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Cinnaminson, which held off Delran for a 6-4 home victory. Kayla Rafferty hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth, when the Pirates scored four runs.

Nonleague. Lily Shontz capped a four-run first inning for Shawnee with a three-run double, and that was more than enough for pitcher Jackie Pezzato as the host Renegades cruised over Eastern, 6-0. The senior pitched the shutout, allowing just four hits and striking out six.

Katie Keebler and Faith Rivera carried the Timber Creek offense to a 12-2 downing of visiting Bishop Eustace. Keebler went 4 for 4 with two homers, a double, and five RBIs. Rivera also slugged two home runs and a double. She finished with three RBIs.

Lacrosse

Kylie Primeau netted six goals for Bishop Eustace in a 16-6 nonleague triumph over Sterling. Elise Sullivan and Mikaela Gekas-Robinson registered hat tricks for the victors. Tori Shinkowitz led the Silver Knights with five goals.
