Haddonfield led by 2-0 after one inning and 3-2 entering the bottom of the seventh. But then, Eric Shorr led off with a triple and Justin Jannetti singled him in to tie the game.
Jannetti moved to third on a sacrifice and a wild pitch. Jack Welscher, the winning pitcher, then hit a walk-off single.
Nonleague. Designated hitter Joe Gatto stroked a go-ahead single in the top of the eighth inning to send St. Augustine, ranked fifth in South Jersey by The Inquirer, to a 4-2 win at No. 3 Gloucester Catholic.
Mike Elfreth added an insurance run after Gatto's single, and starter Chris Oakley pitched a complete game. Oakley improved to 7-1, giving up just three hits and two runs.
In other nonleague play:
Wildwood defeated Penns Grove, 6-3, at home despite committing six errors. Pitcher Matt Bolle went the distance, scattering seven hits, allowing three earned runs, and striking out two for Wildwood. Syd Jakel went 3 for 3 and drove in two runs.
Northern Burlington used the long ball in a 10-0 win against visiting Millville. Zack Gakeler and Ryan Shinn hit solo homers, and Tyler O'Dell hit a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the mercy rule.
Reid Anderson did a little bit of everything for New Egypt in its 11-0 home win over Medford Tech. Anderson pitched five shutout innings, striking out 10 and permitting two hits. Anderson also went 1 for 2 at the plate with an RBI, scored a run, and swiped four bases. New Egypt stole nine bases overall.
Tim Macey drove in four runs, leading Delran to a 13-0 win at Riverside.
Cape-Atlantic National. Ocean City won, 5-0, over visiting Lower Cape May in a tune-up for next week's sectional playoffs. Beau Hall struck out eight over five shutout innings, and Evan Ochlan went 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Lacrosse
Fifth-seeded Middle Township lost at home, 14-7, to 12th seed Delaware Valley in the first round of the South Jersey Group 1 tournament.
Non-Public Group B. Gloucester Catholic won easily at home over Holy Cross, 22-9, in a first-round matchup.
With the game in hand late in the fourth, Gloucester Catholic junior Pat Richardson and senior Nick Lanciano scored their 100th career goals. The Rams advance to play the winner of Tuesday's matchup between Moorestown Friends and DePaul.
South Jersey Group 2. Ocean City's season ended at the hands of Wall Township, 14-5, despite the game being tied at halftime.
Kyle McDonough recorded six goals and three assists for Wall. Ocean City was outscored, 10-1, in the second half. Wall will play top-seeded Seneca in the second round on Tuesday after Seneca knocked out Nottingham, 18-1. Zac Aho led a balanced Seneca attack with three goals.
Also in Group 2 action, Oakcrest advanced with a 10-8 win over visiting Red Bank. Jon Mitchell and Blake Biren combined for five goals and four assists for Oakcrest, and Nicholas Verzicco made 23 saves.
Cape-Atlantic. Ryan Bralski scored five goals for Mainland in a 13-10 home win over Vineland. Ryan Swenson complemented Bralski with two goals and two assists. Mainland led by 8-3 at halftime.
