Fri. S.J. football: Davises lift Gloucester Catholic

Mike Davis tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to his twin brother, Matt, to put Gloucester Catholic up by 19-7 in the fourth quarter, and the visiting Rams held off a late charge from Schalick to win in a West Jersey Football League Diamond Division game.

Mike Davis tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to his twin brother, Matt, to put Gloucester Catholic up by 19-7 in the fourth quarter, and the visiting Rams held off a late charge from Schalick to win in a West Jersey Football League Diamond Division game.
Mike Davis finished 13-for-23 passing and rushed for a touchdown. Matt Davis caught six of those passes for 88 yards.
Elsewhere in the West Jersey Diamond, Levi Simpkins returned an interception 28 yards for a TD as Woodstown rolled over visiting Highland, 28-8.

Holy Spirit 30, Hammonton 0: Taalib Gerald rushed for three scores in the first half as the host Spartans, ranked No. 3 in South Jersey by the Inquirer, rolled over No. 13 Hammonton.
Egg Harbor 27, Oakcrest 13: Darius Ellis rushed for 105 yards and a score and returned an interception 21 yards in the first quarter to lead host Egg Harbor. QB Adam Bynum rushed for a 39-yard TD on a broken play in the second quarter to give Egg Harbor the lead for good.
Millville 20, Atlantic City 6: Rob Ennis got Millville's season off on the right foot, rushing for a pair of touchdowns as the Thunderbolts held off visiting AC.

Bridgeton 68, Lower Cape May 6: Stefon Bowman and Cappadonna Miller each ran for two scores and Miller and Nazir Williams both returned interceptions for touchdowns as Bridgeton rolled at home.

Northern Burlington 35, Princeton 0: Kenyatta Greene had 162 yards and three TDs rushing and 83 yards and a score receiving to lead the No. 18 Greyhounds at home.

Holy Cross 21, Delran 7: Jimmy Hickey and Kenny Long had rushing touchdowns and Brandon Simmons connected with Matt Correnti for an 8-yard TD to pace the visiting Lancers.

Gloucester 18, Pitman 14: Justin McCleery threw a 40-yard TD pass to Tony Bultron to put host Gloucester ahead by 18-6 in the second quarter. Ben Boyer chipped in a pair of rushing touchdowns for the Lions.

Florence 34, New Egypt 7: Kenyari Moore rushed for two scores, including one for 62 yards, and forced a fumble on defense to back host Florence.

Sterling 40, Haddon Township 6: Richard Carter returned the opening kickoff 90 yards, and host Sterling didn't look back.
Collingswood 48, Lindenwold 7: Steven Copeland tossed a 45-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Wallace to finish a 34-0 first half for visiting Collingswood.
