Eastern's Austyn Cuneo seems to be days away from topping a national field hockey record that was set just last year.
The junior scored five goals Thursday in a 12-2 victory over Washington Township in an Olympic American contest. Cuneo moved within a goal of tying the national mark of 191.
That record was set last season by Florence's Lexi Smith, who now plays at The College of New Jersey.
Eastern's next game will be at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at Cherry Hill East.
Boys' Soccer
Kenny Johnston scored in the second half to break a deadlock and lift New Egypt to a 2-1 road victory over Cherry Hill West in a first-round matchup in the South Jersey Coaches Tournament.
The Warriors will play the winner of Friday's game between Clearview and Timber Creek in the second round.
Burlington Freedom. Guilherme Decarvalho registered a hat trick as Westampton Tech slid past host Medford Tech, 5-2. Duane Tracy had both Jaguars goals.
Colonial Conference. Justin Ford and Tommy Sheehan each contributed two goals as Sterling cruised to a 7-1 win at Overbrook. Cavit Ula also scored and added an assist.
Niklas Mengeler's early second-half goal was the deciding one as Gateway topped visiting Woodbury, 2-1. Mengeler scored nine minutes into the half on a direct kick about 20 yards from the net.
Boys' Cross-Country
Cherry Hill East's Ben Dillon set the pace at Pennypacker Park in Haddonfield, running the course in 15 minutes, 52 seconds to win the individual title at the Camden County Championships.
The Cougars came in first place overall with a team score of 27. East teammate Aaron Groff came in right behind Dillon at 15:53.
Girls' Cross-Country
Paul VI earned the top spot in the Camden County Championships with a score of 52. Stephanie Hiester had a team-best time of 19:29, good for second place overall. Maddy Berman of Cherry Hill East won the race in 19:17.
Girls' Soccer
Five second-half goals helped Delran defeat New Egypt, 6-0, in a Burlington County League game. Bryn Kelly registered a hat trick, and Rachel Ceplo added two goals. Brianna Taylor also scored.
Jess Larson made four saves to register the shutout. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Lauren Cadiz scored in double overtime to lift host Rancocas Valley over Cinnaminson, 1-0. Alex Tamashunas stopped all five shots she faced for the Red Devils.
Kenzee Hudson's first-half goal was all Riverside needed in a 1-0 road win over Florence. Hudson scored off a one-timer on an assist from Kasie Shively.
Olympic Conference. Second-half goals from Rachelle Ross and Marissa Topolski sent Lenape past host Cherokee, 2-0.
